Great for entertaining the kids, good results. However not really for everyday use- Tastes like a carrot but your brain tells you it's just not right!

Only about 50% grew and were not massive (it was a dry year for us).However, what we did harvest were quite spectacular. Even one or two made the cooking water dark purple but taste was great.

I've grown carrots for a few years now but this was my first year of growing purple carrots! They started off well but started to die off within a short space of time so I had to pull some up before they all died and blanch some baby carrots - which weren't all purple yet!
Taste like any other carrot but brings a bit of a smile to your face when eating a purple one!
Good way to encourage children to eat and grow some veg.
I would say to take the picture provided with a pinch of salt...mine were nothing like the picture - not even the ones that managed to make it to full size!

Aesthetic but not impressive
Unfortunately with these seeds they seem to be more focused on how they look and less concerned with their growth. This seems to result in some purple under sized carrots. Read more
