I'd tried everything, the 'humane' sticky traps, blocking any and all holes and had even resorted to chasing the 'mouse' (singular) around the kitchen with a baseball bat.

Finally, after it chewed a hole in our new rug, I got serious and bought the Ultra Power mouse trap[s]. (They come in a pack of two but I thought at least that gives me 2 chances to get 'the mouse').

Ordered on Sunday morning and arrived Tuesday morning. Laid them down Tuesday night - nice that they come pre-baited with some sticky stuff - and, as directed, I laid them at right angles to skirting boards and went to bed.

So this morning, you could say I was a bit shocked to find TWO mice dead in my kitchen. Two traps, two kills - exactly as another reviewer said. (This makes me think I will have to put them down again tonight though - just to be sure).

Kills were clean, mice didn't look to have suffered and there wasn't blood and guts anywhere. To dispose of, you simply pick up the trap, hold it over a plastic bag and release - no need to touch the little blighters.

Job done - exactly as they said it would be!

Many thanks Big Cheese.

Really impressed with these. We have caught 3 mice yesterday and 3 today with 6 traps out. So far all have been dead and cleanly. The traps are simplicity to set and also to unset.

Like the other reviewer who had used poison I had a feeling I was just feeding them instead of killing them. Peanut butter is so far the best bait I have tried. I went for crunchy peanut butter, I don't know if that is better, had a rather strange moment in the supermarket deliberating over which kind of peanut butter a mouse would prefer.

I cannot recommend this product enough.

I have used various products in the past. The worst was the most expensive believe it or not. I bought one of those mouse sonic sensors for over 20 quid. This had absolutely no effect and mice were still appearing. In fact, one of the access points the mice made their way from sat underneath a plug socket with this sensor in. Unbelievable. I also had the glue mats but these aren't pleasant as you have to pick up and have to watch a distressed mouse panicking.

This ultra power traps are effective and pretty humane. Firstly, the mouse has no chance once it is caught between the trap. I admit the mouse will suffer unbelievable agony for a few seconds, but death is pretty swift within a few seconds. You don't have to touch the rodent, and can be used again and again. Make sure you create a sort of enclosure just in case the mouse runs past the trap.

On the first day I bought this, I got two mice (and hence rid of the problem) and as I live in a rented room this was an absolute godsend as the mice had a habit of waking me up in the early hours. Hearing them chew through things is not pleasant.

If you have a mouse problem, catching m,ice this way is 100% guaranteed.

This definitely caught the mice BUT didn't kill them quickly! I found the mice had managed to crawl halfway across my shed before giving up the fight and some had tried to chew the plastic away. So if you don't want the mice to suffer a long time then this is not for you.

Very effective. When the 'old style' traps and even poison failed, I tried these. Simple but brilliant. I can't see a way a mouse could eat the bait without being caught. 5 caught in my loft so far. Clever design means no more traps hitting your fingers and an instant (I hope) death for the mice. Easy to dispose of dead mouse after.

I had a garage full of mice and traditional wooden traps just weren't working, not to mention the pain in setting and baiting them! The metal ones worked fine, but I hated removing the dead mice - yeugh! When I returned to the shop to buy more metal ones, they'd sold out, so at greater cost, I bought these plastic ones. It must have been fate, as they are the best traps ever. They are easy to set, easy to bait (peanut butter works best for me)and, most importantly, they catch & kill the mice and it's so easy to empty the trap and reset it, with no need to touch the dead mouse. Genius. That's why I'm online buying more!
