I am aware that the widely used commercial versions of this system have proved highly effective, however it appears that the smaller domestic (5 Watt Bulb version) is completely impotent!
I have treated this product to the ultimate test of being placed in the centre of a poorly lit low-ceilinged farmhouse kitchen constantly infested with flies: the flies completely ignored the light lure, preferring instead to settle on its immediately adjacent supply cable! Not a single one was lured into the `killer'!!!!!!! As expected, replacing the lamp with a new one made no difference whatsoever to its nil performance!

This product, and I suspect many other similar ones, fails completely to perform as per its trade description and in my opinion should not be marketed!

Well you get what you pay for I suppose, We purchased 4 of these for the work place.
1 Doesn't even work (light i pressume) I won't send it back I binned it.

3 work in a fashion, when I say work the light comes on. These things are supposed to attract flying insects & Zap them, What they do do is give them a slight sun tan as the jaunter past. To my knowledge not 1 fly has been killed as yet, the only casuality is a bee that forgot to wear it's protective glasses & damaged all 5 of it's eye's, I beleive it went completey blind in the end, by the way it constantly flew in to staionary objects, this however was a source of amusment untill it finaly met it's end in the paper shredder. We wouln't be suprised if the little buggers are texting each other telling them to come over for a free tan. We certainly won't be buying any more of these. A rolled up news paper is the weapon of choice from now on.

Doesn't attract the flying insects as I would have expected. I realise this was quite cheap but did think it would work better.

Item arrived on time, but is it my vision or the way companies show products look larger than the actual size. The other concern is the question of, do these things work. Tested it in a room with lots of flies and moths and from my observation, not one fly or moth was attracted to this insect killer.

Having a pond in our garden we have swarms of mozzies. I am especially eaten by these horrible little critters make me look like Quasimodo or something from a horror story. Since having this portable wonderful item most of them have been exterminated. Allowing me to have my BBQ's again.

Will work in a dark room as the only light source will catch some but not all flies. Not up to even catching most house flies. Should have bought an industrial strength one.

This device is completely useless and should not be marketed. No flies (large or small) have been attracted to my device since I bought it. As a test, i swatted a bluebottle with a towel and, while he was stunned, carefully pushed him through the bars of this "Killer". He walked around inside for about five minutes whilst recovering his senses then crawled out and flew away.

My house was being overrun with flies, living in the country isn't always good. I purchased this little insect killer and so far I have zapped 1 fly. Very frustrating. It was false economy as the fly paper is beating it hands down.
What a total waste of money. Fly paper is far cheaper and more effective.
