Glue traps work really well, but you will need a strong stomach to be able to put a screaming rodent out of its misery each morning. Not for the feint hearted or weak willed, but better than having mouse droppings around your kitchen. Whilst using these, look into ways to make occupation in your premises more difficult if possible, especially if the problem is located in your house. I sometimes place a few crumbs of something in the middle, so a mouse scurrys onto it to investigate. I also use in places mice are known to emerge or where I have found droppings. These are so effective, I am going to order some more!

I've had a plague of mice in my house. I've tried standard "snap traps", shop bought baits, professional bait (pasta, grain and oil-based), but nothing succeeds like these. I bought 3 packs and left them in my loft. Checking twice a day as (a) it's cruel to leave them stuck there; and (b) they might become unstuck!

Bait them with a glob of peanut butter and check often.

Caught 14 mice in a 2 month period. All's quiet in the loft now!

I've used these traps with great success as a last resort when my baited "walk-in" Big Cheese human traps haven't worked.

My cat insists on bringing me regular gifts of live mice, which he hands over and forgets about, so I regularly have to catch them and release them outside, but on the odd occasion the mice won't be tempted into the walk-in humane trap, which is where the glue trap comes into play.

The important thing to remember is to check the glue trap every few hours so the mouse doesn't have to suffer for too long whilst it is caught. The huge advantage with these traps is that the mouse can then be safely released outside to carry on wih its life by simply placing the trap (complete with the mouse) outside and pouring some vegetable oil or cooking oil over the area where the mouse's feet are glued. In a few minutes the oil will dissolve the glue and allow the mouse to walk away from its ordeal.

So there you are - there is absolutely no need to batter the poor creature to death unless you have some nasty murderous streak in you. Do the humane thing - monitor the glue trap closely, pour the oil on when the mouse has been caught and let the little creature resume its normal life.

PS. I will always favour the "walk-in" humane Big Cheese metal cage trap over this option, but sometimes needs must and this is an alternative to poison or other non-humane traps.

Mousetrap
This product does not work. A complete waste of money. Conventional mouse traps did the job quickly. DO NOT BUY THIS.
