STV612 is a 9 volt DC universal mains adaptor which fits all 'Defenders' mega-sonic animal deterrents. To use the product: Attach required plug to adaptor. Install repeller unit in desired location and switch to OFF. Plug mains adaptor into indoor mains outlet. Connect barrel-jack plug to repeller unit - using 5m extension cable if required. Turn mains power ON and turn repeller unit ON. Refer to repeller unit instructions to test unit is fully functional

Initially it seemed like a good idea getting an adapter, but besides the problem of the British weather being more wet than dry, there was the fact that the lead would not reach where I wanted it in my garden and the danger of electrocution. Through just using the square battery I have found that the repeller has kept cats out of my garden and the battery is still active more than 6 months after installing. The repeller has a test button to test how strong the battery is, just in case you wonder if it's still working. I regretted buying the adapter as I cannot see a purpose for it practically.

Although meant to power the appropriate units that are used exclusively OUTDOORS, this adapter warns it is for INDOOR USE ONLY!
Be carefull if rain has got to the sonic equipment as the adapter end plug will short and definately destroy the unit.
Warranty will be void for using the adapter outside--even though it is supplied (and recommended by STV) to power equipment that is only used outside.
Catch 22 if anything goes wrong!

I havn't had this adaptor long but so far so good and it's saving me a fortune on batteries for my cat scarer, (don't know how much lecci it using though!)

STV Mains adaptor

Saves on batteries
