satisfying 6 Sep 2011

It's very satisfying to hear the clicks as you find and destroy the little blighters. Even more satisfying is watching them be electricuted when they get stuck in the prongs. Would definitely recommend especially if your animal has black fur like mine so its hard to see the fleas. Also it has a light when you turn it on which helps you to see what you are doing.

Hmmm not sure 14 Mar 2012

We have had a serious problem with fleas since moving into our new house, and after finding frontline no longer seemed to be working on the cats I decided I needed to look around for alternative methods. I saw this product and after reading the good and bad reviews I decided to give it a go as it was 1/2 price. I tried it on one of my cats who has course thick hair and within a minute I heard that delightful 'pop' people had spoken about and I thought I'm going to love this! (I wouldn't normally take delight in such things but when you've been bitten head to toe you start to get annoyed with the little blighters). I did wonder whether the pop sound would freak her out as she is a bit skittish but the pure enjoyment of being groomed seemed to outweigh the sound. I then tried it on her brother who has thin silky hair and found it didn't feel like it was getting right down to the root of his hair but just gliding too easily over the top. A week later I gave up trying to use it on him and bought a 99p flea comb. This went through his hair more effectively and caught the fleas between its teeth. I then decided to conduct a little experiment and see just how good the Gotcha Flea Comb was in comparison to the 99p cheap one. The Gotcha Flea Comb popped three times (you only hear it, I have never seen them dead on the teeth), I then tried the 99p comb straight after - it caught nearly 20 fleas in less time grooming than with the Gotcha comb. I was horrified with my findings and will only be using a cheap flea comb from now on with a bowl of water. I read that some people use the Gotcha flea comb to put the fleas onto instead of a bowl of water but I either find they jump straight off or it zaps me too. Oh and one last detail that nearly made me sick - I did manage to get one flea onto the comb and I watched it get zapped slowly. It kept popping and a horrible high pitched squeal came from it, the little light on the comb flickered and when it finally died there was smoke and the smell of burning.
So no I don't think I would recommend this product.

I tried this on my short haired cat, i didn't want to go crazy on a cat one at £15.00 plus so tried this. Ok, so it isn't perfect on short hair but, it is great when you do catch them and hear the little devils get electrocuted. why not enough stars is because facial area they get really deep in the fur there and i just couldn't use the comb to remove them tweezers were needed, but then if you really hate fleas you can always put them on the comb afterwards and switch it on.

Surpisingly Good
This was surprisingly good considering how much cheaper it is than the other there were to choose from. It really does zap the fleas when you comb the cat. Read more

Good Value
It certainly kills fleas well, with a satisfying pop, if you can get at them. It's silent, which is great for pets, but it's a bit chunky to use on cats, especially round the ears.

Depends on your cat!
I bought this for my two cats as frontline and other treatments didn't seem to work too well on one of them and the other therefore was constantly at risk of fleas. Read more

Good in Theory.
I think this idea needs to go back to the drawing board. It works perfectly if you can get the flea onto the comb. Read more

Utterly useless
After just 2 days and zero flea kills it broke and I resorted to a traditional flea comb and a bowl of water. This was 100% successful at a third of the price.
