Fantastic product if you have children and don't want to have to use toxic sprays all over the house. The other benefit is that you can monitor how many of the little blighters you are catching whereas with the sprays you have to assume that it has worked.

Wasn't sure it was working at first but left it on over night in the lounge and caught 7. Moved it upstairs and straight away caught a few more. Excellent product for peace of mind and a peaceful nights sleep.

I have tried for years, without success I might add, to control the flea population in our house due to our two cats. This works and works well!

Basically this device is a thin plastic beach hut for fleas with a lightweight (7W) bulb - about a metre of cable and a sticky piece of paper.

It seems flimsy - but basically we are trying to catch fleas here - so you don't really need a steel cage. Moreover - you MAY be able to pull your finger off the sticky paper - but a flea will have all 6 legs attached to the floor of the hut so - he/she ain't going nowhere once he/she seeks out its warmth.

I'd read several reviews of these before buying so took care constructing the device. The most difficult part was getting the bulb into the socket - just take care, I'd suggest.

The hut's struts aren't of the strongest design either so I took care with them too.

However, once constructed the device is sufficiently robust to be picked up and moved around.

The light glows and - apparently - it's supposed to draw fleas to impending doom.

I don't know because it hasn't caught any fleas in the first 12 hours of use. However, we haven't had any evidence of fleas for about a week either (we took draconian measures when I had a couple of bites after sitting in the relevant chair - a couple of weeks back).

We are simply taking significant precautions. As we don't have any pets - perhaps the device won't catch any fleas this year.

Nevertheless - I feel somewhat the safer because the Flea Killer is sitting there - waiting... waiting... waiting...

A shallow tray/plate/dish containing a solution of water and liquid soap (eg washing-up liquid) and a suitably positioned torch/desk lamp, left overnight, will do a good job of catching fleas. The soap solution means that the fleas instantly sink (and drown) rather than float.

I know this system works very well...'cos I've got two cats !!!

I have four cats that are always in and out of the house who were responsible for some fleas in our living room. We decided to get the Flea Killer to try and capture the fleas before we got bitten by any more.

The flea killer stayed in the middle of the living room for two days but caught nothing. On the third day it eventually caught something...two cats. The light from the Flea Killer is excellent at attracting moths. This in turn attracted a curious moggy who placed his paw onto the sticky pad to get at the moth he was joined by his brother who attempted to get at the same moth and the two cats struggled around the living room eventually releasing the sticky pad inside the flea killer which was later found stuck to the sofa after the mogs got away.

I have given this product 2 stars because of how entertaining it was. However it does not appear to catch fleas for me. As a moth and moggy catcher I have yet to find a rival to this product.

Please do not let this put you off the product other people appear to have had much better luck with it than I have.

this product is pretty straight forward. leave it in a room overnight and you might well be shocked by how many fleas roam your house, lets just say i bought this with a flea comb and in the last week must have caught 70-80 with the trap and atleast 30-40 with flea comb (i have two cats). sounds grimy but it wasnt exactly like our house was crawling with fleas i only bought em cos it didnt seem fair my cats had to scratch just as they where getting comfy.

the only downside is that the fleas are JUST stuck to the glue. they still squirm 24 hours later (i think).
but you gotta do what you gotta do. buy this.

Well I opened it all up & put it together, without a problem. I plugged it in, & waited, & waited... Eventually it caught something I picked it up to investigate, a midge! next day I found a Flea, so it wasn't a waste of time, it has also caught a baby Flea, & a couple of fruit flies. So not a total lose. However this morning after a week & a half, I caught a Flea, on ME!! Now in the last 3 weeks I have caught 5 Fleas, 3 on me, 2 in the trap. I did re dose the cats 2 days ago, so that might explain the one today. I have 3 long haired cats, so if all I have managed to catch/trap is 5 that's not too bad. I did think I would catch more though, as my partner keeps getting bitten!! Cant spray as we have fish. I don't know how effective this makes the trap. Not brilliant I think!!
