More About the Author

Pete Barrett has written quite literally millions of words, although it is true, some were spelt incorrectly. Many of these words were joined together to form sentences, paragraphs and eventually books and plays. It is true that an infinite number of monkeys typing on an infinite number of typewriters for an infinite amount of time would have come up with 'Out Loud: 36 Twisted Tales.' But in the process they would also have produced an infinite amount of monkey droppings and the complete works of Jeffrey Archer. And nobody wants the job of clearing them up.

Pete's children's books Tich Dragon Slayer and Tich Vampire Hunter are now available on Amazon and in bookshops. Tich is a kid whose life is a mess - he's too small to get into the football team, he's useless at school and his gang and his parents are rubbish. But then his father gives him a game which allows him to step through any picture into the world beyond. Then things really start to go wrong. These titles along with Tich Outlaw, Tich Argonaut and Tich Saves the World from the Jellies will be available on Kindle soon.

Pete's Detective Dan books are also now available on Kindle. In this series Detective Dan and Bozo the Dog solve a series of mysteries - flying fish knocking people over, diamond rings disappearing, burning scarecrows - ably hindered by Constable Sloth, the world's most useless policeman.

The short stories in Out Loud: 36 Twisted Tales were originally commissioned by the Interact Reading Service which sends professional actors into hospitals to read to groups of stroke patients. Pete was at first skeptical about this commission on the grounds that, with one actor reading one short story to one stroke patient, it would have taken him 4393 years to become famous. A prediction that proved uncannily accurate until Amazon Kindle came along.

Now Out Loud: 36 Twisted Tales is available to a much wider audience, although slim people may enjoy it too. If you like funny stories with a twist, this book is for you. If you don't, buy it anyway, it's time you had a change and stopped being such a stick in the mud.

Pete Barrett is also a playwright with professional productions of plays such as The Dying of the Light, The Complete Corruption of Carrington, Revenge of the Mutant Cockle, Guilty, Who's Afraid of Joanna Trollope and Day-Dreaming on the Motorway. These plays can be enjoyed, well read anyway, on his website www.petebarrett.co.uk.

Readers will find hours of amusement on Pete's website www.petebarrett.co.uk where you'll find an email address should you wish to send him Viagra offers, details of his bank account or release large sums of money from Nigerian bank accounts.
