Beautiful 6 Jan 2011
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I bought this for my star wars fanatic husband and kids and must admit I was slightly worried about the quality due to the reasonable price. I read other reviews though and went for it and am pleased I did. The quality of the projection is excellent and it has kept the kids (and him!) occupied on many a night finding their favourite planets and stars that they remember from the films. You can either see the planets with names or put on another 'cover' and just have stars projected on the ceiling. The only slight drawback with the projector is that the lid/cover doesn't secure on top very well so it's best kept away from the kids when they're not actually using it - I wouldn't like to see the other domes damaged. But overall a great product and well worth getting.

Bit disappointed. 26 April 2011

Expected more from this for the price and other reviews. Its ok and my 11 year old was pleased when he got it for his birthday. Problems are, its not very bright and writting not as clear as you think it should be. It also needs a very plain large ceiling and wall to be effective. I use re-chargeable batteries and they run out after a couple of days use, so its very heavy on batteries too.

For avid fans only 22 Feb 2012
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This is by no means a reflection on the seller, who was great. This item seems like a great idea, but doesn't quite work in practice. For starters it is very fiddly to put together - so is not really suitable for 8 year olds. Secondly, it relies on a tiny LED bulb to work... which is very easily damaged, and is ill fitting in the setting. Finally, when you do get it working, you need it very close to a flat ceiling to get it to be legible - which is somewhat of a challenge - i.e. you can't put it on a table and be able to read it on the ceiling.

My other half is an absolute Star Wars fanatic and he loved it as a gift, but to be honest, if you were not a fanatic, it is pretty dull. That said, it looks quite nice on the shelf. If a little plasticky.
