This book is written by a talented expert in the field, with vast knowledge and experience in both teaching and hands on experience. If you want or 'need' to learn SSDAM, then this is the book you should choose!

Very complete, but not for beginners

As a college textbook for beginners, this book is less than ideal. (I studied it at college in England.) In saying that, it is a very accurate, exhaustive and intense description of SSADM and makes for difficult understanding if you're starting from scratch learning design methodologies. I found it very difficult to apply the methods to real-life situations. For those of you out there with at least some experience in a 'real' development environment, you'll probably absorb this book readily. I'll give it a fairly generous 4 stars for you seasoned developers out there, but a paltry 1 star for college students.
