This book covers all the basics of SSADM and sometimes beyond. It is almost too focused on the SSADM method and doesn't provide enough detail of how a project using SSADM might work. Whilst this may be considered an unfair criticism, this is discussed in the SSADM CCTA manuals, so should be dealt with here in the same practical approach as the rest of the book.
I have worked with the author (C Slater) in the PSO of a major British company, and the style of the book does reflect her no nonsense and common sense approach. This book is quite readable, unlike many books on IT.
The book does need to be brought up to date with the latest version of SSADM.
I found the book very easy to read. It begins by taking you from what is systems analysis and design and why it should be carried out right through the different stages of SSADM. I also found the examples used very helpful. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to learn about systems analysis and design and SSADM.

Mike Goodland is my teacher at university of Kingston, he is good and his book is even better.
