Great for marathon runners, triathletes, and for those who want to monitor races or workouts lap by lap. This is a fantastic product. I looked at every review and product test I could find before buying this, and still wasn't sure it would be as good as it looked. It is even better than I expected. I regularly swim a mile in the pool (64 lengths) and I've alway counted the lengths in my head, which works ok, but I takes some concentration.

Took my SportCount Chrono 100 to the pool yesterday for the first time and I was amazed at how well it worked. It fit perfectly on my index finger. I'm 6'3 so I have large hands - having said that, the device is smaller and thinner than it appeared in photos, and the strap is very well designed indeed. It attaches securely to your finger and the button is easy to press with your thumb and I could feel the click on each press, with the result that it recorded every lap. Not having to think about laps is so great, I was able to let my mind wander like I can when I run. Wish I found this device years ago!

The display is small but I found it easy to read when turning at the wall. I was worried that the Lap number was only displayed for 3 seconds after each press of the button, but in fact, this was plenty of time to see what lap you are on while you turn. I decided to get this because it was at least half the price of the new auto-lap counting watches and I'm very happy with my decision. I would recommend this to anyone doing alot of pool swimming.

I lost my previous sportcount lap counter and bought this as a replacement and, as it happens, an upgrade. This model also has a pause function which is excellent when you want to count laps but also have pauses in your swim (for instruction or whatever). It's really easy to use and does exactly what it's meant to do. I also prefer the way it 'ties' round your finger - it's an improvement on the last model I had.

This is a great product. Bought with a little trepidation as there were no other reviews. Used it today in the pool and it works really well. It has a clear display which scrolls between lap number and split time and does not try and squash both in the display so it's easy to read even with goggles on! Gives you total times and averages which not all more expensive products do! The button gives a clear click feel when you press it and is easy to use with one hand which means you don't break your stroke. Did wonder if it would stay on my finger in the pool but no worries about that, it stayed firmly on! I would thoroughly recommend this product!

Having been forced to do a lot of swimming as a physio treatment, I was looking for a simple, inexpensive device that would log time, lengths and distance as I kept losing track of how many lengths I had done! I had looked at various swim watches but they were at least twice the price of the Sportcount and I didn't want to spend that much money on all the bells and whistles. Furthermore, some of the watch reviews complained that the watches didn't log the lengths consistently if you changed stroke which was far from satisfactory. Now, I am not a swimmimg aficionado by any stretch of the imagination but I have to swim for about a mile each time. This little device is perfect for my needs. It looks like a mini sized watch that you wear on your index finger. I used it for the first time today and it was faultless, logging all 64 lengths successfully. It has a great double button press PAUSE function, which allows you to stop the clock if you want to take a breather and not have all your timing stats corrupted with your breaks. You only have to press the button again and away you go. The button is very intuitive to use. When you reach the end of a length, you automatically press the button with your thumb and it logs that length, flashing up your latest lap number. At the end of your session, you press and hold the button for 3 seconds and your total time, number of lengths, average length time, fastest and slowest length times are all displayed. In addition, the time for each individual length that you have just swum is there for you to see if you want it. All in all, a great little device.
**UPDATE** Been regularly using this little device for almost 3 weeks now - just brilliant!

I bought this because I recently started to try swimming distances rather than just recreational swimming where distance doesn't matter.

I know that there are fancy watches out there which can automatically identify your swim stroke and number of lengths that you do in a session, however these require your technical standard of swimming to be good, in order that it correctly identifies the stroke, and I believe you also need to be able to do tumble turns, which I can't! They are also considerably more expensive!

I love this swim counter since for my level of swimming its perfect. I tend to swim the length get to the end press the button and set off again, for which its perfect.

The unit is quite small - you can't tell from the picture - I just looks like a digital watch! It's approx 28mm wide, 25mm high and 10mm thick.

It fits well on the forefinger and is held in place by an adjustable strap which looks as though it will accommodate anything from very slender finger up to reasonably large. Maybe someone with massive hands would struggle size wise.....

Once in place, it stays put (I was worried it may move around or worse fall off completely, but no such problem!), and has so far been waterproof with no issues, and has also coped well with the temperature in steam rooms/saunas (as I tend to relax in these after swimming).

All functions are accessed through a single button, so it's good to have a couple of dry runs before using it for real, so that you learn the features like how to pause/resume etc. but it is fairly easy! The button is easy to reach with your thumb. The button doesn't have a lot of movement or feedback, so you need to give it a positive single click every length and it works fine.
