Well, this is probably one of the best wireless presenters around at the moment. I have tried a couple of other makes that are not as responsive. One of the best points about this presenter is the range, it responds comfortably at a distance of 30 metres and does not require a direct line of site between you and the laptop/pc.

Another very useful feature is the wireless mouse mode (there is a switch on the side to switch between presentation and mouse control). I find the up, down, left and right arrows the best way to control a mouse wirelessly as I feel it gives me the most control over where the cursor is going. It can go diagonally too if you hold down two of the arrows. The speed of movement is just right. You can then left-click and right-click if you wish.

Other useful features include a red laser pointer which automatically turns off if the button is pressed down for more than 20 seconds. This is a great idea as sometimes, when I have carried presenters around before, the laser button has been compressed and the laser pointer was on till the batteries ran out.

The presenter itself looks professional with a shiny metallic edge (note: the casing is plastic not metal) and is housed in a high quality, durable, pocket sized case that has 3 compartments, one for the presenter, one for the usb dongle, and one that I currently use for my USB memory sticks that contain the presentation I will be giving.

And at the current price, it is very competitive with other leading brands that produce similar products of less quality.

I confidently recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable wireless presenter containing all the features they could possibly need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for Lectures and Seminars 4 Jan 2011
Colour Name:Red Chrome
I bought one of these last semester to use in my lectures and seminars. In my University many of the computers are often located at the side of the room where I don't want to be, and those that aren't are positioned directly in front of the projector. This means that as you change slides your head obscures the screen, and you periodically get blinded. I also like to wander around the room as I talk, and sometimes want to draw students' attention to particular parts of a Powerpoint presentation. All of this helps encourage interaction. This gadget makes all the movement possible without having to dart back to a fixed point all the time. You can control the slides from anywhere in a large lecture theatre, and use the pointer at will. It also has a useful control switch that allows you to switch back into 'mouse mode' in order to launch embedded video or audio, scroll around web pages and so on, and then switch back to slide mode. It works straight out of the packet, and doesn't require any technical knowledge at all. Note that the part of this product that looks like a flash drive is in fact just a dongle that has to be fitted to a USB drive on the computer. Your Powerpoint files have to be on a flash drive, or stored on the computer's hard drive. I have come across one or two lecturers who couldn't work out why their computer wouldn't recognize their new flash drive! This model also comes with a protective case, so you can just pop it into your bag and carry it around whenever you're teaching. It's now become 'standard kit' as far as I'm concerned, and is a great product for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Smart 14 Aug 2010
Colour Name:Silver Chrome
What an excellent piece of wizardry this is! The mouse function (cursor really) is a bit limited and slow compared to a proper mouse but the ability to zap PPT changes from anywhere in the room without having to lose eye contact with your audience gives you a great feeling of power and control. The mini spot laser pointer is also a useful additional tool. I wouldn't be without it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what it says on the tin! 29 Jan 2011

It's hard to be detailed and specific about this basic item. I use multiple presentation suites at work and got tired of spending pre-lesson prep trying to sort out the in house presentation devices. You know the kind of thing.... drained batteries, missing dongle, one button or the other not working etc etc. I decided that it was best to just buy my own but didn't want to spend a fortune.... enter the SP400 Smart-pointer!

As my title states, this item does exactly what it says on the tin. I've had it now a couple of weeks and had it plugged into numerous platforms of varying spec and operating system, and in all cases it has been picked up straight away and worked without a hitch. Functionality has varied between XP, 2000 to Win7 but nothing that a bit of tweaking hasn't sorted out. It's alot lighter than i thought it would be but that hasn't affected the build quality, and the handy case is big enough to store a couple of memory sticks as well as protecting the pointer and dongle.

In short, a good price for a good piece of kit. Many thanks to the reviewers that took the time to post prior to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for both Mac and Pc 13 Jun 2010
Colour Name:Silver Chrome
This is a great remote control for slides which works perfectly both with Mac and pc. I loved it. It al also a mouse function, which is really convenient, and a small red light. It is incredibly easy to use (no installation, just put the pen drive). The shipping was very very fast (just couple of days).

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great 4 Mar 2012
By Culture Enthusiast TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Colour Name:Silver Chrome|Verified Purchase
I bought this wireless presenter because of the fantastic reviews. But I do not like it. It is very basic. Slides go forward and back - so far so good. The mouse function is IMO of no use as it moves very slowly (when it actually works, which is not too often) and the red laser pointer is very filmsy - I can barely see it. The buttons are very noisy and I film lots of presentations - I can hear the click everytime I move to the next slide. I will look for a wireless presenter by Kensington with green light instead. This did not work for me. Pls note that the AAA batteries are not included and you will have to buy your own.

After a few seconds switched off, and this happened continually, so therefore had to return this item. Duronic goods are normally very good.
