My partner and I finally took the plunge and very recently bought this absolutely amazing Sony 4K TV from our local Currys/PC World store.
We looked very closely at several 4K sets in store, but this one was, by a very comfortable margin, the best screen quality.
So, what's the basic argument in favour of upgrading to 4K? Well, in a nutshell, 4K delivers four times more pixels than 1080p full HD. In my opinion, it's no exaggeration to say that upgrading to 4K is the next very big step in a long journey from VHS and Betamax videos, to DVD, and then 1080p HD and Blu-Ray.
This Sony TV simply brings so much more detail, clarity, sharper edges, and far more vivid and natural colours. The picture quality is constantly breathtaking and jaw-dropping. Prior to owning this TV, I owned a very fine widescreen Sony Bravia, which gave me years of very happy viewing. However, my satisfaction with the picture quality of the Bravia, which I'd never even questioned before, suddenly vanished the very first time I laid my eyes on the Sony 4K TV at Currys/PC World.
Although this is a 55 inch screen, it doesn't suffer the irritating drawback of obvious pixels. If you don't have space for a 55 inch screen, Sony also make an equally good 49 inch 4K TV. Until very recently, the 49 inch version retailed at £1400.00. However, both Richer Sounds and Sony stores are currently selling the 49 inch TV at £999.00 (plus about £70.00 for delivery and installation), which is frankly an absolutely amazing value deal.
In terms of 4K content for the TV, Netflix and Amazon Instant Video are the places to get your 4K programmes.
If I watch a Blu-Ray on this TV, the picture quality is magnificent.

I know about a few of these TVs around with some curved, and what have you. I can say none much the quality of this Sony Bravia. Even 're-made' films that comes with are so clear, it looks like standing two feet from the action. In addition, the internet and sony entertainment centre give you the best of everything, skype is soo clear with the sony TV camera (which can be bought Amazon) for video, facebook and skype calling even standing 20 feet from the TV, the sound and picture are so clear it is unbelieveable.

If you have the money I recommend you choose this over the others in the market; though I bought mine at £4000, it is now cheaper and I wished I had waited a few months - I guess I saw it live a Sony centre got hooked up.

At last, 4K TV (otherwise known as 2160p or quad HD) is here! Four times the resolution of existing full HD TV's make the pictures look so sharp its like looking out a window. Most importantly of all (besides the 4k resolution) is that its PASSIVE 3D technology - this means you can use the 50p glasses you get at the cinema! Passive is much better than active 3D for numerous reasons - there is no flickering to give headaches, you dont need to charge up the glasses, and the glasses cost as little as 50p a time rather than the £80 EACH you can pay for active 3D glasses - try having a few mates round when you need to spend £80 a pop on glasses which can break! I would like to see the price drop to the £2k mark, but still a bit cheaper than the £4k that 4k sets were costing a couple of months ago. There's quite a few 4k blu ray films already available, and the new X-box and PS4 both support 4k resolutions, as will a PC with a decent graphics card! Future proof - get one!

This is no doubt the best Sony TV available on the high street. The richness of colours and sharp images is unmatched by any other TV I have seen around. The new TV from Samsung with the curved screen even does not match this TV. If you can afford to purchase this TV, I will recommend you do.
