Update: A few people suggested the old firmware was the issue rather than the disks themselves.

I've not been able to test this year but have updated the review.

*** OLD REVIEW ***

I'd been using Verbatim disks with the LG blu-ray burner and they worked 100% without problem. I guess I've burned around 10 or 15 of these disks.

I bought these 6x Sony discs and the LG burner refuses to burn to them. A few seconds after the burn process starts an error is reported. I've tried with a few of the Sony discs and same problem.

I contacted Sony and also LG and they both report that the Sony BD-R discs do not work in any of the current LG drives ( mine is the LG - BE06LU10 External blu-ray drive ).

So LG owners don't buy these discs unless you want some very expensive coasters!

This only applies to Sony/LG - the Sony discs may well work with other manufacturers blu-ray burners. Also it only applies to the BD-R discs - Sony BD-RE discs may work fine ( not risked testing it! )

To be fair it does say in the LG manual that only Verbatim, TDK and Maxell BD-R discs are recommended.

The discs might have been fine, we don't know. REAL problems with the delivery company..City Link. Out when they tried to deliver the first day. In ALL DAY the next day,in lounge, right by front door, heard no knock or bell ring, BUT did hear the sorry you were out card being put through the letter box. Thought it was the postman as it was the right time, by the time I got to the door and found the card, person had gone. They charge for 3rd delivery, you can't speak to a human easily when you ring them. Gave up and chose the send it back option!! IF IT'S GOING TO BE DELIVERED BY CITY LINK, DON'T BUY IT !!!

My Blu-ray drive was a duffer - bought from Aria.co.uk. So I had to return this since the new Blu-ray drive was dead-on-arrival. But the seller was kind and gave a refund.
