Product Description

Produced by the legendary Bob Rose at ICP Studios in Brussels, Songs From The Suitcase features extensive backing vocals by Julian Lennon and the track he and Mortimer duet together - Lennon and Mortimer anyone! called Rain In England is potentially a career highlight for both of them, sounding not unlike something off Roy Orbison s iconic Mystery Girl album: You will find me/Lost inside me,/Still holding on, to dreams I ve left behind/I can hear the rain in England, falling softly, to the ground/And, I can see the hills of England, rolling gently, homeward bound. Naturally, the song is about missing England but it could just as easily be a song about Mortimer himself, about a man who has finally stepped in from a wilderness. Somebody hear me out/Help me out of the frame? When you hear Songs From The Suitcase you know you just have.

Just seen Tony on todays LOOSE WOMEN,great to see him back.
I have been watching his new video for SHAKE IT DOWN the fist single from this album, very catchy with a fun sort of 60's video. After a few plays you can't help singing along.
Also been listening to the album and it sounds great,Julian Lennon is involved and good songs, very different from his East 17 days but so much better. Most of the tracks are ballads and give the album a laid back feel.
I really hope this is a huge success and the first of many.
Also try the E17 album DARK LIGHT released last year,it features Tony,John and Terry and has a different sound of E17 of old.It has a light rock sound with some good tunes.
Welcome back Tony.

This is the first solo album i'd heard from Tony Mortimer, i have always thought he was a good song writer and i still do, the problem for me with this is the contribution of Julian Lennon who for me is not a great asset to what otherwise could have been a very good album. For fans of Tony they would be better off buying 'Dark Light' by East17, the last album from 2012. great cd with no Brian Harvey.
