IF YOU ALREADY SAID, "I'M NOT THAT TYPE OF PARENT..." THEN THIS QUICK READ IS FOR YOU!

SPECIAL EDITION: BONUS 5-STAR eBOOK INCLUDED! "SAY GOODBYE TO THE SLUMP"

"THIS IS A MUST READ FOR PARENTS OF TODAY."
"THE BEST STORY I HAVE EVER READ!"
"WONDERFUL REMINDER & COMPLETELY TRUE!"
"AWESOME READ!!! As a psychologist and sports consultant to athletes and coaches, I would recommend this as a good (short) read that will plant a seed of pause (& give you a good laugh -- medicine to the soul--along the way)."

'Twas the night of first practice, when all through the park
Not a parent was complaining, not even one bark.
The rules were explained to all in the stands,
In hopes that the parents would simply be fans...

(...then later in the story...)

And then in a flash I heard a Dad scream,
"My son is the best on this whole bleeping team."
As I crawled on the ground, to see who it was,
I saw Beer-Drinking Bob who was clearly a buzz.

5.0 out of 5 stars If only...! 12 Jan 2014

Occasionally you pick up a book that just tells it like it is, and this is such a book. The essence is that parents of sporting kids should back off and let the coach and the team take care of them. I don't think anyone would disagree. The boorish oafs (mainly fathers) who spoil it for everyone else really are damaging more than just their own self-respect. I have even seen fist-fights between fathers ON THE SAME TEAM at kids soccer in England. Children's lives are often shaped by the public behaviour of their parents. In my opinion, this book should be compulsory reading for any parent whose child is selected to play school or college team sports. Well done, this message has to be said!

Parenting: 'Twas The Night Before Sports... (Parenting Books) by Drew Coolidge

Twas The Night Before Sports... is a short but wonderful and funny read which will amuse any child interested in sports or just likes to have fun.

The lovely rhymes will tease the thoughts of younger and older ones- so, a big 'thumbs-up' for kids and parents.

Take a swing and give it a shot!

5.0 out of 5 stars For the love of the game 10 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
It's a game . . . a great game, but still just a game. Parenting: 'Twas The Night Before Sports... (Parenting Books) by Drew Coolidge reminds us that it's supposed to be fun. This book is well written, entertaining, delivers a message and is clearly written by a lover of the game. This wonderful book should be required reading by any parent of a kid in little league. And anyone who likes (or loves) baseball should read it too! 5-stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful Tale 27 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a wonderfully written riff on the 'Night Before Xmas' using baseball instead of Christmas as its subject. The language is simple but powerful. Parents should enjoy reading this aloud to their kids, especially sports fans eager to impart the value of team-work and other positive elements of sports that so often go unmentioned in the media. A short but sweet tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be mandatory reading for all parents with kids in Team Sports! 18 Nov 2013
By Tom Gambon - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
As a former Little League and Pony league umpire, I wish this book was around 20 years ago! I'm a "former" umpire because, like many of others as mentioned in the book, I got fed up of dealing with obnoxious parents in the stands, trying to live out their failed dreams through their 10-14 year old children. This book should be mandatory reading to all parents with children in organized team sports. Well done Mr. Coolidge!

This short book is a delight :) covering aspects of parents and youth sports, if all such parents were required to read this, then youth sports would greatly be improved! Invest a few dollars in this book and you will be very glad you did. Must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW how times have changed 26 Oct 2013
By PhantomDragon - Published on Amazon.com

This is a must read for the parents of today. What happened to sports coaches teaching kids that sports are suppose to be fun? Now a days the parents take out out all of the fun that kids could have in a game. This shows a very important view of how things are now compared to how they could used to be. It will really open your eyes as a parent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely True! 18 Nov 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
As the mother of a teenage son, I have experienced this firsthand. Some parents do tend to be too overbearing when dealing with sports. I too was on my way to being one of them before my son told me that he would rather not play than to have me down his throat after every practice. I learned how to keep my mouth quiet and let him enjoy being a part of a team. All of the while, I'm observing the other parents giving the coaches a hard time when most of them are volunteering to teach the kids the sports. This should be a required read for the parents of all athletes.
