Lets hang on to what we got......
I was not only there in the 60s but I remember it very well, it is yesterday I am having trouble with.
I bought this compilation as a a Christmas present and if it had been sealed would not have played it. Fortunately for me it wasn't sealed so I played today on a long car journey
It is good value at 60 tracks. As one other reviewer said sometimes they slip in recordings by part of the group but as far as I can tell there are no re-recordings here.
The selection is mainly British hits with some which we rarely hear from with people like the Herd, Amen Corner The Love Affair.
Great rousing songs like Eloise by Barry Ryan to You'll never walk alone.
Petula Clark is represented twice with Don't sleep in the subway not her strongest hit and Downtown which was her strongest hit, not my favourite singer.
Also rarities for instance the Dakotas as in The Cruel Sea.
The Yanks are well represented with Del Shannon, The Turtles , the Monkees and the Four seasons.
All in all a great collection and the person who I have bought this CD for doesn't deserve such a good CD so he is being spoilt. I did in fact buy two as presents as the reviews were so good and I was not disappointed
Highly recommended. The sixties as its best.
