The 50W Solder Station is ideal for general electronic and electrical repairs pc build etc. The tip temperature can be controlled, from 350°F to 900°F (180°C to 480°C) without the need to change the tip or heating element.
This product sounds great in principle as it includes everything you need for general soldering tasks as well as micro soldering. It also boasts a variable temperature control for precision setting. Unfortunately this does not live up to expectations. I'd suggest spending extra on a quality adjustable soldering iron as this product is nothing more than an ugly and expensive paperweight. It does not hold a constant temperature for any length of time, which is extremely frustrating when trying to do precision repairs to computer circuit boards. It claims to be able to heat up to 480 degrees c, which should be enough to melt any kind of solder, but it doesn't so I suspect it's not reaching anywhere near that hot. Seriously, don't be seduced be the inclusion of all you need in a soldering kit, the rest of the items are all cheap to buy anyway. The main consideration should be the soldering iron itself and this was a huge disappointment despite the low price.
