I bought 2 of these ,one for my car and one for my ladies car, both of the cars are not used much due to us both driving company vehicles all the week, on my car the charger works just fine and I have not had a flat battery again despite the car not being used for weeks at a time .On my ladies car it is a different story she has an all singing and dancing security system on her car and the drain of the system is more than the charger can keep up with, so I still have to put a normal battery charger on her car from time to time.
So if you don`t have a high drain on your battery this solar charger works well ,if you do forget it, go and buy an optimate charger or similar.

This is a VERY good solar battery charger. I've bought several of these over the years to keep the family's cars charged up and this one is definitely the best so far - by far
Unlike many other similar products this one supplies both a cigarette lighter socket plug AND crocodile clips for direct connection to the battery (which is necessary if your cigarette lighter socket does not stay live when the ignition key is removed). There is an in-line connector plug/socket mid way in the cable which makes it very easy to feed the cable through a small hole in the bulkhead to reach the battery if needed. This pug is designed so that it is impossible to reverse polarity. IMPORTANTLY - there is also an in-line fuse on the positive side of the cable so that, if the cable insulation gets chafed a short circuit will not cause a fire. I have not seen this on any other panel that I have bought.
I tested the panel with a multimeter on a 100% cloudy day with slight drizzle falling. It produced the stated 17 volts at 0.086amps - again most of the other cheap trickle charge panels will suffer some voltage drop in such conditions. This one is exceptional.
If I have one criticism it is only a very small one. The panel (again unusually) comes with 4 rubber suction cups (2 + 2 spares!) to allow you to stick it to the inside of a windscreen. In practice these suction cups are a little bit small and I found that I had to allow the bottom edge of the panel to rest against the top of the dash to take some weight of the cups, otherwise they tended to come unstuck. Due to the slightly textured finish of the dash the suction cups would not stick on to it. However a couple of strips of double sided tape would fix it in place quite nicely.

I regularly leave my car on my driveway all week and commute to work on a scooter - as a result the car gets used at weekends and sometimes it is left for weeks. When I did try to start it, I found that the battery was often flat and I had to jump start it. I bought this great little solar panel, popped it on my dashboard and plugged into the cigar lighter socket and now I can leave the car for weeks and it starts straight away. Can't recommend this product enough.

Bought two of these wee beasties and both work brilliantly. I got one for the car (always like to be sure it will start..it being an automatic) and one for the quad. Not a large item but very usefull. Everyone should have one.

I've got a small boat and unfortunately sometimes don't get to use it as regularly as I like so when it comes to using the motor I permanently have a battery problem - not good news. All that now solved with this terrific charger which attaches so simply with the two crocodile clips. So convenient to use - no more uncoupling the battery and taking it to be charged somewhere - and waiting for it. Plus no more worries about power when I'm out with the boat - can I take the boat out as soon as I get there - charges up fast even on a typical day. Great Product - and cheap.

I bought this trickle charger a couple of weeks ago, before going on holiday for 2 weeks. As I only make occasional use of my car, the battery is prone to going flat when I am away for any length of time and it is annoying to have to call someone out from my local garage to get the car started.

First thing to note is that this device is NOT designed to resurrect a battery that is already flat, the idea is that you start with a healthy battery and the solar panel keeps it from discharging over time while not in use.

In my case, I found that I needed to connect the panel direct to the car battery using the crocodile clips provided. This is because the cigarette lighter does not function when the ignition is off, so there is no connection to the car's electrical system available.

The panel didn't start charging straight away when attached. I can think of a couple of reasons for this - first I had previously taken the car in to the garage to have the battery recharged so the battery was probably already healthy, second it was late on in the day and the sky was overcast so maybe not enough juice being produced.

I kept an eye on the charger and was pleased to see that charging had started the next day (as indicated by the flashing LED on the solar panel).

After two weeks (17 days) away, I came back to my car today. After I disconnected the crocodile clips, I was pleased to find that the car started first time, so the solar panel has saved me at least one call out to the local garage, which means it has paid for itself in one go. :-)
