More About the Author

Stephen Arseneault is a native of Central Florida where he lives with his wife and children. With several decades of experience in the fields of science and technology Stephen brings a realistic approach to the science fiction in his works. SODIUM is his first sci-fi series. AMP is the follow-on series to SODIUM.

The SODIUM series was written in first person narrative in an attempt to give the feeling of a historic account of a story as told by the main character. There is no dialogue between characters. It is not the traditional format for a science fiction novel, but it does add a unique dimension to the story, bringing the reader closer to the main character as the actions and events unfold.

The AMP series is also first person, but it follows the popular format with character dialogue.

Aside from eBooks the writings are also available in print from the author's web site Stephen enjoys reader feedback. Please send any thoughts or opinions to

5.0 out of 5 stars Imaginatiive and absorbing 19 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An excellent sci-fi tale. An interesting story set in a well imagined universe. If you're into aliens, star ships and space age weapons and can appreciate some very imaginative sci-tech, this book could very well be what you're looking for. No 3 in the series, it helps if you read the previous 2 books, but you can enjoy it all the same if you haven't. It very quickly had me engrossed. I look forward to more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better 4 July 2013

At last. we step away from the post-apocalypse gloom, to something approaching proper space opera. time skips between novels seem to be shortening as well, and we might see the same protagonists interacting in subsequent novels now. for once the main character was easy to like from the beginning, which also made it a bit easier. Good read

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good space adventure 22 Sep 2013

The author maintained the previous plot line quite well. It was easy to pick up the storyline from the previous edition. Reading this volume, the excitement just kept building. I'm looking forward to the next installment. Of course I would recommend this book as again the author kept the suspense going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing technology in the future 26 Oct 2012
By Tom G - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
The author has done an excellent job incorporating believable technology that has evolved 70 years into our future. The idea of cloaking technology that allows entire ships to be insulated from the effects of gravity as well as the ability to pass-through other solid objects is quite interesting in itself. Leveraging alien technology and then making it one step better gives hope to the world as it faces a mega-invasion from deep space. I especially enjoyed the ability to challenge Einstein's theory regarding the limitations of travel to less than the speed of light and the space suits that are able to interact with the human body in such a way that it becomes part of the human system. Amongst all of this future technology to wow the sci-fi fans the story line is equally good. The characters are well defined and the primary subject does a lot of internal reflecting that helps to draw you into the moment. As with any good story there is an open end to this one allowing the opportunity for more from the author. We are still guessing at what the invaders look like, what their true motives for humanity are and whether or not they can be beaten. Survival of mankind is the theme and with each book the author has introduced a new cast of likeable characters. I want to know what happens next!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Getting Better All The Time 24 Feb 2014

I reviewed Sodium 1 rather critically, because the lack of dialogue threw me off and I felt that the story of some friends out on a camping trip and encountering an alien exploratory craft needed a lot of filling out.

As I continued to read 2 and 3, I realized that the story arc was designed to cover multiple volumes; when taking into consideration the AMP series that is a continuance of the SODIUM stories, this really is quite an epic tale.

Book 3 continues to display the punctuation issues that the two previous books had; Mr. Arsenault previously mentioned that all six are being professionally edited as we speak, so it is my hope that these issues will soon be remedied.

It takes a patient reader to take in this entire story, and I have the entie AMP series still to go, but I feel as though when I am done it will all be worth it.
