I read the original version of this book back in the 70's and found it useful for an overview over major cults and religions. This updated version is good but some of the info that was in the original book is missing and that's a pity e.g the doctrine of being baptised for the dead in Mormon doctrine is not mentioned here and in my view this is an important area to address even though this book isn't an exhaustive study of each cult. The summary of each cult and the differences with Christianity in the original book were also better in the original version. Still good though if you want a basic overview of major cults and religions and how they differ from biblical Christianity.

this book is proving to be very useful in answering everyday questions concerning the bible and christianity along with other religious books and faiths. it fits in well with my university theology course and explains different aspects and views well. it is set out in an accessible format with question headings and understandable answers. would highly reccommend this book to anyone who has an interest in religion

This book explains religions in a concise way and compares them to Christianity. It is extremely good to help beginning Christians avoid pitfalls when trying to find a church. It is also useful to have information on other religions to be informed about their doctrines and have an answer for people who are seeking God. It has information on cults, Catholicism vs. Protestantism, Christian Science and Mormonism. I highly recommend this to everyone seeking answers.
