As SMS administrators know there is very little out there on SMS Installer....now there's a whole book! This book is both comprehensive and very readable, it covers all the features of installer in detail, giving clear examples, and includes scripts to experiment with. A must for all SMS administrators.

Great guide to the Installer

Rod's book fills a gap in the SMS world with his fine coverage of the SMS Installer tool. I both train and consult with SMS, and my students and clients have often lamented that more info about SMS Installer was not available. I have been recommending Rod's book to them for some time now, and all who have read it have thanked me for the recommendation. It's clearly written with practical examples for creating, writing and customizing scripts, and I highly recommend it to you as well.

Very "Reader Friendly" but still VERY relevant information.

SMS Installer provides very needed technical information on creating automated installations using this scripting tool. Rod Trent's writing style is very easy to read yet is still able to provide highly technical information. This is one of the few technical manuals that provides lots of screen shots so that you do not need to be in front of a PC while reading. Thank you Rod. Please write one on Wise for Windows Installer.

Great Book

Rod Trent has created a great book that details the 'not soo much talked about' world of scripting with SMS installer.
Since reading this book and testing some of the 200 scripts made available on the CD I would have to say I have packaged up some applications that I was going to have to give up on.
This is a great book to read and allows you to appreciate the extent of utilisation that SMS installer really can have.
Great work Rod, keep up the great work...
