I was having trouble with my new digital TV - jagged streaks and freeze frames etc and after seeking advice from a TV engineer who wanted £50 to come out and access my requirements [I declined] I decided to buy an aerial and DIM[do it myself]. My friends warned me against this course, telling me it was a specialist job and mentioning allingment and other technical problems I would encounter but I pressed on regardless. I searched Amazon, found my aerial and ordered. £22 and free delivery - product can be loft or outside mounted. Set against the cost of the specialist I thought it worth the risk. To my great surprise the aerial arrived next day. Laid everything out on the floor - assembled the thing following the clear instructions. Had to keep checking the picture on the box. I stood back an admired. I tell you friend, a warm glow enclosed my heart. Here was a gold and silver structure of rare and obscure beauty. I was reluctant to hide it in my loft but managed to overcome the urge to keep it on display in my lounge. Screwed the bracket to a wooden joist, lined it up and went downstairs to test it. TV as I never experienced it before. Heavenly, clear and delightful images. I was entranced. Occasionally I go in the loft and look. It is there gleaming and streamlined and silently soaking up a multitude of channels. Sometimes at night as I lie in bed I think of it feasting on pixels and faithfully ransferring them to my reciever. My life is replete.

Bought this on the strength of other reviews and have not been dissapointed.
Just a few pointers for anyone purchasing this aerial in terms of set up and installation :-

1) This has a fixing kit included and contains everything needed for loft installation only
2) I would advise assembling this aerial prior to entering your loft space if your loft is small as some assembly elements can be a bit fidley at the best of times ( I set up an ironing board and assembled it on this :-)
3) Put the reflector bit on last, i found i couldn't get it through my loft hatch with the reflector on, this is an easy bit and will take a minute and will be easy to put on once in the loft.
4) I would suggest purchasing a signal meter which enabled me to find an even stronger signal than that set up by a previous professional aerial installer
5) Do your homework on freeview and transmitters in your area and ensure you set the aerial in the correct alignment i.e. horizonal/vertical depending on which transmitter you are pointing towards.
6) In my case i had an old analogue aerial running on my freeview television, the signal on BBC1 and BBC2 on my old analogue aerial was reading 16% and 19% respectively, with this new digital aerial and slightly different positioning based on signal meter reading i got 76% and 79% signal strength with no breakup ocuring since the new installtion, the rest of the channels read the same or slightly better.

I bought a new TV with an inbuilt Freeview HD tuner and found that HD quality was poor with old loft aerial. An internet search suggested an aerial upgrade was the simplest option. Accordingly I settled on this item as meeting requirements, having read other reviews.

Item arrived rapidly and in good condition (Sold by Electro World). A few observations:-
1. The aerial seems a little underengineered for outside use but is fine for loft mounting.
2. The aerial is big! Couldn't find assembled dimensions anywhere before ordering. For reference assembled size is (cm approx) 125L x 65H x 50W.
3. Assembly easy but fiddly in restricted loft space. Recommend making coaxial connection to terminal block first and then snapping the plastic connector unit into place when main aerial is positioned. This avoids loss of screw, spring and braiding clamp etc. into depths of loft insulation!

Upgrade resulted in dramatically enhanced signal strength and quality. Recommended.

A fantastic aerial giving me excellent reception of all freeview channels - easy to assemble and set up in my loft. Very good value since I could have paid more than double in a high street shop. The pack also included 10m digital cable as well as instructions.

The overall value is very good, with everything needed to install the aerial. (The included pole is only for a loft installation) My main gripe is the incredibly fiddly method of anchoring the coax braid to the balum on the aerial. I made one a/c turn of the screw holding the metal clip and ping, three pieces flew into the air, the clip a spring and the screw. Getting it back in place took me ten minutes.... and that was in my living room, on the roof or in the loft I would doubtless have lost it! A better method of anchoring the braid is urgently needed. Practice before you venture onto the roof!
