The great thing about this word game is it's really compact size that can literally fit in your pocket and can be taken anywhere to play at any opportunity and is perfect for playing on the train, plane, pub, cafe or at home with friends. I enjoy word games like Scrabble so took to this immediately. One of the great advantages is that because there is no board and no time limit its easy to play just a few rounds to fit in any time period. I also liked the symbols dice that adds drama and the unexpected to each throw. Although the game has a default way of playing, it would be easy to invent new ways to play. It's like a cross between Scrabble and Boggle but with the versatility of playing cards. Although I have played with other people, I also found myself playing the game alone at various times and it became quite addictive. I also like the fact it respresents a return to the traditional games of old and a move away from technological based computer games. I'd highly recommend buying a Shakespell to always have in your pocket, to pull out anytime anywhere.

This is a great fun game which seems to appeal to all ages above about 7. Its beauty is its portability. It fits neatly into a pocket and is easily stowed in it's little pouch. We took it on holiday with us and attracted quite a bit of interest on our plane journey and in the airport when playing it.The rules are simple to pick up, our 8 year old enjoyed teaching her grandparents quite soon after learning to play herself. The game is a good mixture of luck and skill, and you can play it collaboratively as well as competitively. A great stocking filler!

Shakespell is a really fun game. I played it with a group of others and we ended up playing for hours. Its easy to use and can be used for all ages. Very handy for long journeys too.

S Hakes Shakespell Review
