Product Description

SEYDEL BLUES SESSION STANDARD

G-MAJOR

The Blues Session Standard is a diatonic harp with plastic comb and stainless steel covers - available in many keys from LD to HA!
If you start as a beginner, then you should be aware, that this is the mother of all tunings, the so called 'Richter-Tuning'. The ingenious finding of the 'Diatonic Harmonica' is the work of this man.
Richter is said to be descent from the Bohemian area east of Klingenthal from a town called 'Haida'.
It's not really proven, however it's a fact that the 'Richter Harmonica' is only called 'Haidaer' by Seydel's employees since the beginning of the production more than one hundred years ago.

All this shouldn't bother you when starting to play harmonica. The only important thing is, that you cannot fail completely when you start the adventure playing harmonica with this tuning. Almost every great player has begun with it.
With the emphasis on blow notes you start to play folk music within five minutes, if you take the draw you start to dive into the magic of Blues and Rock'n Roll, the musical style this product line is named after.

Every Seydel Blues Session Standard is manufactured with the same dedication, attention and precision Seydel puts on every harmonica and therefore convinces the player with great playability, sound and durability.

Positions:

  • Straight: G
  • Cross: D
  • Doublecross: Am

All over the world countless professionals choose and rely on Seydel! To name a few:

Charlie Musselwhite
Will Wilde
Mathew Walklate
James Cotton
Watermelon Slim
Chris Nancy
Memo Gonzalez
John Stephens
Andy Santana
Barefoot Iano
Mark Hummel
...and numberless others...

I have had this harmonica for a week (birthday gift). It is my new carry-around harp. I love the key of G, as it is nice and low and resonant. All the notes play easily on this harmonica, and the notes are very balanced. They are not the easiest to bend, but I think that has to do with the reed stability. If you are used to Hohner, this Seydel harp will feel more substantial in the hand, and the shape is excellent for playing comfort. It does not feel airy in any way. The leather pouch is good for pocket carrying. The price is fair for such a high-quality instrument.
