Seiki believes a no-nonsense TV delivers big on sight and sound. So Seiki starts with only the most advanced panels for the highest picture quality and use high performance amplifiers to power its speakers. Seiki TVs are made in its own facility by its own people. By creating a 4K Ultra HDTV with great picture and sound, minus the unnecessary bells and whistles, we’re able to offer the latest television technology at an ultra-affordable price. Introducting Ultra HD for everyone.

Hi-def x 4

Remember how excited you were the first time you saw HD? Multiply that by four and you’ll understand 4K Ultra HD from Seiki. With over 8 million individual pixels (3,840 x 2,160) compared to about 2 million (1,920 x 1,080) on your current HDTV, the picture provides stunning clarity and colors that far surpass anything you’ve seen before. Put simply, you have to see it to believe it.

Awesome TV amazing monitor

The most affordable, highest resolution screen on the market brings new possibilities to the table—not to mention your computer desk. The same promise of detail and clarity that Seiki 4K brings to your favorite shows, movies, and sports will also be delivered to your workstation, and your online and console gaming experience.

Plays well with others

With Ultra HD, you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite shows and movies in the best resolution possible—whether it’s SD or HD, DVD or Blu-ray. And as more and more 4K content becomes available in the near future, you’ll be one of the first to see it in its full Ultra HD glory.

No 4K content? We've got you covered with U -VISION

Most Hollywood movies are produced in 4K Ultra HD but delivered to consumers as HD or lower resolution content. With the new generation of 4K Ultra HDTVs now on the market, the challenge is to transform this legacy content into enhanced 4K digital entertainment experience for the living room. Together with a Seiki 4K Ultra HDTV, U-VISION 4K Up-conversion HDMI cable offers state-of-the-art video processing and 4K performance enhancements comparable to native 4K.

(edited: downgraded to 2 star after more extensive tests, fixed typos, note how to disable overscan)
I bought this tv to use as a 4k monitor but am going to return it because it is unsuitable for that use.

I have also used the US model SE39UY04 which i thought it was the same as the SE39UY01UK, but is not.
My review for the US model is at , and i used the same
two laptops to test both tv sets.

The UK model differs from the US model for the layout of the inputs, and also the presence of a SCART connector.
Firmware on the two is totally different, and as you can read below, very problematic on the UK model.

Used as a TV, the video interpolation is poor; 576i channels look like a VHS tape (side to side with an LG tv showing the same stream, the difference is huge).
1080i is marginally better but still pretty bad on the eye.

Used as a monitor, there are also significant differences with the US model.
When driven at 3840x2160@30Hz, there is evident smoothing even when the "Sharpness" control is set to 0 (in the US model, changing Sharpness from 1 to 0 has a very evident effect; not so in the UK model). As a result, the video is a bit blurry (visible with text fonts, e.g. in terminals). Also, this seems to give much higher latency in the display. Mirroring the MacBook screen to the SE39UY01UK gives a latency of about 340-380ms (measured running a clock on screen and taking a snapshot with an external camera). Mirroring from a Chromebook at 1024x768 reduces the latency to about 240ms, which is still quite high. The US model feels slightly faster though I do not have precise measurements.
