My wife and I love Sea World and we love the "tycoon" series of games, most notably Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon. We picked up this game thinking it might be fun to combine some of the elements from the real world Sea World with the game play experienced in the other tycoon games. Unfortunately, the game did not live up to our expectations. Most of the problems we encountered revolved around the construction of the game itself: the graphics were poorly rendered, the plots for construction were too small to create a complete vision, the park objects were hard to manipulate (indeed, you couldn't rotate or manipulate them at all), and your options were severely limited. The sole plus was that it was pretty cool to see some of the things we had experienced at the real Sea World theme park in a video game, but the novelty wore off quickly. The game itself was actually less well done than the Zoo Tycoon I Marine Mania expansion pack. Probably the most disappointing thing was that the animal encyclopedia function featured artists renderings rather than actual photographs of the animals: one would think that Sea World had no shortage of photos of its own animals and exhibits, but I suppose that such thinking was mistaken. For those thinking about purchasing this item, I would recommend either of the Zoo Tycoon versions with the appropriate expansion pack.
