This is for connecting a SCART output on a PVR/VCR/freeview box to a VGA input on a CRT/LCD PC monitor. It wont work the other way round, e.g. PC-to-TV.
Please Note this is not to connect pc from moniter port to tv or vcr etc. Please do not hesitate to take full refund including postage and return postage if you don't like it

I think people have seriously got the wrong end of the stick (or cable!) here... This cable ISN'T designed to take video from a PC and route it to a TV (VGA->Scart). What it IS designed to do is take a scart input, from say a DVD player or freeview box, and route it TO a device that accepts a VGA input signal (Scart->VGA).
For example if you wanted to plug a DVD player into an LCD computer monitor to watch DVDs without a PC/laptop, this is what you want! Unfortunately if you want to take your computer's video output and route it into a scart input on your tv, this wont work; this type of cable ISN'T bi-directional.
I only rated at 3 stars as I haven't bought the item yet :P I'm just trying to make sure people don't buy this item in error.
As was also pointed out in a review of a similar (but more expensive) product, there is no facility for analogue audio output with this cable, so unless you can crack open the scart connector and solder in an audio cable (which is what I plan to do) then you'll need a scart device with a separate audio output.
Hope that clears up some of the confusion! (Sorry if it made things worse!)

I think Matt's review ought to be given better visiblity, or at the least, there ought to be a warning to all those who, like me, bought this product thinking it would enable me to watch my laptop movies on my TV. Like I said, the clue is in the title.. Scart to VGA. And, as Matt's review says, it's for THAT purpose. I just wish I'd read it before I spent my money. Nevertheless, I now have something to allow me to transfer my VHS cassettes to my laptop, so not a total waste. In summary, a larger caveat to potential purchasors would be nice, but you pays your money and takes your choice.

A pointless item
This did nothing. As far as I can tell it is just a wire with two different connectors attached. I since bought a converter box and that works perfectly. This however, did not.

Does not Do what it says on the tin !!!!
Used this cable to connect SCART out from my SKY box, to SVGA in on my Sony PFM-42B1/H - 42" plasma panel.
Result = No signal & Of course no picture.
