This is for connecting a SCART output on a PVR/VCR/freeview box to a VGA input on a CRT/LCD PC monitor. It wont work the other way round, e.g. PC-to-TV.
*Not suitable for monitors designed solely for computer use. (The screen must support a horizontal scan rate of 15.625 KHz- most projectors, plasma and LCD panels do whereas CRT monitors don't

For those who bought this thinking they could connect a DVD player to a computer monitor, please do your research first, that's NEVER going to work without some other hardware to help, monitors just don't support that kind of video full stop. However, I was surprised that this cable didn't work with my XRGB3 video-processor, which is designed to take 15khz video and convert it into VGA/HD video. I've no idea why it didn't work, must be wired up differently from how the XRGB3 expects, probably on the sync lines. Gmax give a no quibble refund though and are very helpful.

I'm sure this product has some kind of use, unfortunately not the purpose that I bought it for. I assumed that it could be used to convert a scart signal into a vga signal so I could play a DVD into a computer monitor. This lead will not work for that purpose, which requires a decoder box. Lesson learned.

Rubbish!
It didn't work at all. I tried it on our old TV, and then on our other brand new TV; so it's definitely the cable and not our TVs. Do not buy.

VGA Cable
When I recieved the cable and tried to connect it I found that one fo the pins were bent so could not connect.
