Little did I know what was in store for me when I found out All About Eve years ago...Not only did their music become an important part of my life's soundtrack but it also influenced me as a musician and a guitar player. Julianne's tasteful voice plus great guitar compositions give as a result a perfect combination of rock power and lovely harmonies which perfectly fit on each other. I strongly recommend it to everyone from the toughest rocker to the most sensitive listener(And if you are both of them,then don't doubt it: this is your album!!).

Combining light and shade, metallic and rustic, folk and rock - All About Eve's second album Scarlet and Other Stories is a gem. From the haunting Road To Your Soul onwards, Julianne Regan's bewitching vocals take you on a memorable journey. Scarlet breathes honesty, December poignancy and Tuesday's Child the echoes of fairy stories long since departed. As the journey continues the listener is invited to the worlds of the ghostly Empty Dancehall, the romantically fractured Pieces Of Our Heart before the dark, dramatic Only One Reason kicks in with its roaring guitar solo. Juliannne's haunting chorus line "If there's Only One Reason to live in this world, ask the lonely and the dying" still splinters breaking hearts over a decade after its initial release. Finally, the swooping, diving Pearl Fisherman, the story of a love triangle, completes the album with complete perfection.
An album of superb production and great musicianship. Tim Bricheno's guitar work appears both fragile and wistful on some tracks as well as crunchy and driven on others. Brilliant!
As the last harmonics of Pearl Fisherman ring to signal the end of this musical journey, the listener just has to climb aboard and begin again.
A sublime album and a must for all collectors of seriously good music.

I remembered All About Eve from my Uni days...my friend was a great fan and I used to listen to him playing it all the time.....then I forgot....but now I've found it again. Julieanne Regan's voice is one of the best and the whole music experience on this album is something to savour. This album is now one of my all time favourites.
I love it....and you will too....
It does not matter if you are into indie, rock, pop, this is a masterpiece that deserves a place on your CD shelf.
Even better, if you play a guitar like I do, try playing along with Tim Bricheno's riffs....some are so simplistic yet pure genius....have a look at all the tracks especially Road to your soul, Scarlet, Dream now and my favourite to play along to and to listen to...December (totally excellent track-worth the album on its own).
