SAW 1:-

A couple of thirty-something men, Dr Lawrence Gordon, who's married with two kids, and an irascible, obstreperous fellow named Adam, awaken to find themselves locked up with chains in a disused public toilet. A third man is in the room, a chap who looks like he's committed suicide with a revolver. The two chaps don't have a clue about how they've ended up in the room. They listen to a tape recording, and a man with a distorted voice tells them the gruesome things they need to do if they want to live to see another day. The two prisoners then start to work together in an effort to survive their ordeal...
Danny Glover plays a police detective on the hunt for a serial killer, Jigsaw, a maniac who entraps people, and then gives them horrific experiences to endure as an escape route from death. Prior to Dr Gordon's capture, he was helping the police with their enquiries in the search for the madman. The cop has got close to catching the serial killer, but has always been one very short step behind...
This is a very slick and well crafted horror film. It has a few twists and turns, just enough to keep the viewer intrigued, but not so complicated as to leave you baffled. Jigsaw is a sinister and supremely vile bad guy, but because he's afflicted with a terminal condition, it does leave you nonplussed as to how he managed to devise and build his myriad death games. There's some gore, but nowhere near as stomach-turning as the later Saw movies. The film's macabre denouement is probably its strongpoint, setting things up very nicely for Saw II.

SAW 2:-

This particularly gory and slick horror film picks up where it's highly original predecessor ended. However, it's not necessary to have seen the original Saw, in order to understand and enjoy this sequel.

It's a bit frustrating the way Amazon links their products together as the description is for the DVD box set not the Blu-ray box set. At any rate, it's all the SAW movies, I think everyone know about them and they are good ol' gory fun. As for the 7th movie (Saw: The Final Chapter or Saw 3D), although the DVD description doesn't say anything about the 3D version, the Blu-ray box DOES include the 7th movie in 2D and 3D. The packaging is nice, but really just a nice disc case with no extras.

If it is in fact a Dutch import it's a fake one. The box has no official holograms, the sleeve with the cover on it was badly put in and all wrinkled. All the company logos at the start are in high definition but the films are not. I could have lived with having to turn off the subtitles as I have a few European import discs, but the quality of the films themselves were grainy with with glitchy patches flashing onto the screen every now and then.

I'm returning this for the real deal, do not buy and expect blu ray quality because its worse than a DVD!

The box was a spindle on disks, totally useless, I had to buy a 6dvd case in order to be able to not have to remove every disk everytime I needed a specific film. Apart from that, no problems.

No point in talking about this series as everyone knows what to expect. I for one welcome any horror franchise that can hike it's way up to PART 7. It's basically just doing what Friday 13th and NOES did in the 80/90's, great fun that you know what your getting in to.
In regards to the box set itself, I've only watched the original so far. Picture quality was good but a little grainy. Probably not much better than the standard dvd.
You do get the EXTREME EDITIONS of some of the sequels, parts 3,4 and maybe 5.
At a quick glance the extras seem to of just been directly lifted from the, already available, individual titles. Without exhausting the entire set it's hard to tell. There may well be hidden extras that are exclusive but they certainly don't jump out at you.
Which leads me on nicely to my main gripe...
The box set itself is rubbish. I've always loved the cover art to all of the Saw films and this 'Limited Edition' packaging is not only the most un-original but most cheaply coppled together box set I've seen on BR.
No inlay card, no list of the extras and a very bland series 'synopsis' quickly scribbled on the back. The discs are simply kept on on plastic page-like flip-through.
To those who arent fussed about the packaging and care only for the films, that's all well and good. But given the fact that the gimmicks that could have been done to make this a truly stand out set HAVE already been tried and tested with the dvds (Electric spinning blades, holographic images, doll shapped boxes) makes this an abysmal own-goal.
Given that the films have been released on the 'best' format it's a shame that the treatment of the set wasn't given it's 'best' by all involved.
Overall, it's the films that will either sway you to part with your cash. If you have some of them already and aren't sure if it's worth a double-dip, I'd probably advise not bothering.

Image makes it look like you are receiving a big box set, the actual box is just a bit bigger than a normal DVD case.
All the films are on one single spindle, so I had DVDs loose inside the box when it arrived.
One of the discs didn't work correctly and nearly damaged the Playstation 4 I was playing it on.
I have added images to show exactly what the product looks like.
Looks like it was created in someones bedroom.
Avoid at all costs.
