Originally called English Key Stage 3 (11-14), this retitled and repackaged CD covers all aspects of the KS 3 National Curriculum upto level 8 and is designed to assist children to achieve maximum potential in their SATs at 14 years of age.
It takes a two-pronged approach to learning. To give a solid foundation, it first deals with the building blocks of the subject: grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Secondly, it takes a thematic approach to various reading, writing and analysis skills which students at this level are beginning to explore. The thematic section covers Shakespeare, poetry, prose, newspapers and argumentative writing.
The program allows students to develop their English skills by using a variety of study methods, exercises and games. It aims to increase accuracy in the use of grammar and punctuation, improve spelling and promote the ability to read, write, analyse and evaluate various types of fiction and non-fiction.
