These are novellas about three friends working in the same office who are having no luck with relationships, and so sign up to the Capture dating agency, where dominant, but not BDSM-obssessed men are paired up with females looking for the same.
Rachel is a 32-year old workaholic who hasn't had time for dating, and she has only one match on the database, its founder, Chase, who takes her off for a wild weekend in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. I liked the tale as it was contemporary, and they immediately knew that they'd like to keep seeing each other, and six months down the line, we saw their HEA.
Sabrina is the one who found the agency and persuaded Rachel to join, and she herself goes looking for her fantasy - being abuducted by a pirate, and meets up with Kane, one of several candidates. When she sees his dark hair in a ponytail and his massive build, and when he suggests a boat for their tryst, she decides she doesn't need to see or want any other candidates. This was the hottest tale, as she ends up going to the boat on a public ferry, topless, in a trench coat, as Kane had told her to arrive without undies. Well, the sex started as soon as she got there, and only ended when she found our after snooping through his things that he 'is' Rebecca Kane, the 'authoress' whose pirate adventure inspired her own adventure...and ended up thinking that Kane had been using her for research. There's heartache, an escape and eventually their HEA.
Emma's tale was the weakest, as she went to the agency thinking that her husband had been seeing his secretary and as he was the only man she'd ever been with, she'd like to find out what sex with another man might be like. She's moved out of the marital home by then, refusing to speak to or see her husband, 'Adam'/Gage, but unknown to her, as she was discussing her plans with Rachel and Sabrina, he'd been about to enter the office to speak to her, had overheard and had left to plan things. She agrees to a blindfolded blind-date, and lo and behold, her guy is none other than her hubby, who hasn't been unfaithful, but neglectful due to pressures of work, so that they could be financially secure so that Emma and he could have their longed-for baby without having to worry about money. From the start, I wondered how, never mind about the blindfold, she didn't recognise his voice and his touch, as first she contemplated penetrative sex, then shied away, then agreed to it...then cried out Gage's name. Yes, lots of explanations and a HEA followed, but I did not enjoy the tale as much as I could have. I mean, Emma professed to still love her hubby, but doubted his fidelity unfounded, did not even ask for an explanation before moving out, and then immediately sees the solution as having a fling herself?
Overall, it was nice, with 1 hot tale, 1 extremely hot and a bit naughty tale, and one vanilla one. Not a Keeper for me, but I am glad I tracked it down on my quest to ferret out all books my a fave new author.
