How did I ever manage without this? Unlike cheaper items, it has a power supply and may be used on both PC and laptop drives, as well as CD drives. Good quality equipment at a good price.

No need for the instructions, or for the installation disc unless you are still using Windows 98. There are pictures on the box that show you how to connect the cables to the different types of hard drives. I connected up my SATA drive, Windows 7 recognized it straight away and I was using it in seconds. I think the price I paid is fair. They supply a power supply/transformer as well as several cables, all in a box, post free, so I'm happy.

"Arrived in 3 days. One small box in good order. I'm very pleased with adapter I now have 3 old Sata / Ide hard drives from old computers to use on my present computer or with my USB2 TV/Freeview recorder to record TV programs. I will possibly use the Sata hard drive with the adapter for recording from my TV because this doesn't require the adapter power supplyNow 1 month later - Still happy with purchase, now got 54 hours recorded on the Sata hard drive from my USB2 freeview TV. and have used my other 2 IDE hard drives has dedicated backup drives for mine and wifes machines.
