This item arrived very quickly and it is well packaged to prevent damage.
The product that I received had three SATA connections and one IDE slot - IDE & 1 x SATA face away from the motherboard, 1 x SATA faces towards the drive bays, 1 x SATA is external. Also contained in the box was a 1m SATA cable and a RAID software CD.
So long as you know a bit about computers or are willing to look it up in books or online then you should have no problems. I was installing a brand new hard drive so I had to format and partition it before it was ready for use but I assume that if I was using a hard drive already containing data then it would just connect with no issues.
Vista automatically installed drivers once it detected the PCI card and I'm not using any RAID functions so there was no need to install the software from the disc supplied.
A simple, useful and cheap piece of kit with future expansion options.

The card does what is says. I had the card up an running with two 1TB drives mirrored in no time at all. The card didn't arrive with the latest drivers (hence 4 stars) but these were easily found on the company web site and updated with no issues. Card arrived promptly and in good condition so no complaints there either. Very good value.

The card does exactly what it is meant to without any hassle. I am using it to put some extra internal drives into a box which only had two sata connectors. Intalling the card and connecting two more 1TB drives took ten minutes. Windows 7 immediately found drivers for the card and the system was back up immediately with the extra storage. The card recognised the drives correctly even though they are SATA 2 drives. In practice there is no difference in speed between SATA 1 and SATA 2 on a disk drive as the limiting factor is the disk itself not the interface.
The card was ordered at about 1000 on 21 Jan and arrive in the post at 0900 on the 22nd. Superb service.
