4.0 out of 5 stars Ease of Access 24 Jan 2008
The device arrived a couple of days ago and we've had the opportunity to use it a couple of times already. It is very easy to use although I fear we may lose some bits if we're not careful to keep them all together.

It basically just works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works with a Mac. 9 July 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase
I have added two customer photos with extra notes. One, to show what is in the package I received from Amazon today (9-Jul-2008) and the other to show the cables connected to a drive.

On the Sandberg site and in the User Guide it states that the USB-Disk Link only works on a Windows PC. I have successful used this Link on a Mac, to connect an Apple IDE hard drive (Mac OS Standard format) to an Intel MacBook Pro (running Leopard 10.5.4) and a Power Mac G4 [AGP] (running OS 9.2.2). I powered up the drive, plugged it in to the USB-2 port (a USB-1 port on the G4) and after 30 seconds (45s on the G4) the drive appeared on my Finder Desktop.

Hope this is of help.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good experience 19 July 2008

I have just received my second one of these. Whatever I plug in isn't recognised, the power adapter doesn't even power a 2.5" drive, basically it just doesn't work. The first one worked ok, I tried 2.5" and 3.5" IDE drives and all worked ok, but the thing fell apart on about the 3rd disk I tried. It still worked, but without the plastic casing was unlikely to last long so sent it for replacement (see above). I may give it one more go by replacing this one; wouldn't have bothered but for the other happy reviewers.

2.0 out of 5 stars Godd Start, but..
At first it worked fine with my IDE and Sata HDDs, now it just simply doesn't work, maybe I'm unlucky, but the same SATA drive works fine in a dock, so it's not the drive gone... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This sounded like a great idea, but I just could not get it to work satisfactorily. Maybe my fault, but things don't often defeat me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad actually
I have used this for some time now, I have not had many problems with it, sometimes windows doesn't recognise the drive when I switch them, but after a few attempts it works fine. Read more

Easy to use and works very well. Had doubts about the robustness but still fine. Great way to rescue data from old drives.
