Megamind features Will Ferrell as the title character, and evil alien genius, bent on ruling the fictional Metro City, with only Brad Pitt's Metro Man to stop him. When Megamind zaps Metro Man with his death ray and seems to kill him, jubilation quickly becomes depression as a bored Megamind realises he's won and has no one left to fight, so he creates his own superhero to fight, with unexpected results.

This glasses and movie package is excellent value(compared to the comptition and excluding lg's cheapies which I don't like) but make sure that the glasses are compatible with your tv as they are unlikely to work with Samsungs pre 2011 -3D models.They are comfortable to wear as stand alone and also as 'overglasses'.The batteries are only activated whilst getting into the 3D mode and therefore should last awhile.When and if you want to sell the Megamind movie on these are in demand as not available in shops.

I bought these for use with my new Samsung 3D TV (Samsung UE32D6100 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 3D 200Hz LED SMART Internet TV with Freeview HD
The glasses fit comfortably and are easy to operate. They use active shutter technology so they need batteries (included in the box). Just put the coin battery in, hold the glasses near the TV and press the button on the glasses frame - this will pair your glasses for use with your TV. All pretty simple. I find that the 3D effects look at lot better when you sit within 1.5 metres of the TV - it's not so impressive at a 3 metre distance (the usual distance I would sit from my TV)
At under seventy pounds (at the time of purchasing), this set was pretty good value - two glasses and a film to get you started with 3D.

I was apprehensive about the whole 3D thing but having bought a capable TV recently I thought it silly not to get some glasses as well, and I'm glad I did. While a lot of the professional reviews say home 3D isn't up to much I must say I have to disagree. With the right content, preferably something designed for 3D and in hi-def on blu-ray the effect is actually very good and these glasses bring it out pretty well for me. A lot is made about the battle between Samsung preferring active 3D and LG preferring passive, I've looked at both and they're both pretty decent but I went for the Samsung based on what I believe to be other features of my television superior over LG. This does mean of course that I have to fork out for these more expensive active glasses though.
About the glasses themselves, they're impressively compact and lightweight for active glasses. I remember using active 3D at work quite a few years ago now and the glasses were huge and heavy, fear not with these though as that's definitely not the case. They're powered by a small lithium battery (which lasts for ages) that slips unnoticed into one side and have a simple on/off switch on the other side. With your 2011 Samsung set at the ready (yes as other reviewers have mentioned these are not for 2010 models or other makes of TV) you just hold them close to the TV to turn them on and they synchronise over bluetooth automatically. When 3D content is displayed on the TV and the glasses are on they automatically switch over to 3D mode for you hence only having an on/off switch. As I've already mentioned the 3D picture is fine fine for me (I have the UE37D6530 TV). There is some noticeable flicker if you've got a light source in your field of vision so if you want to watch with lights on then put a lamp on to the side or back of the room and all is fine.
Would I buy these and go down the Samsung active 3D route again, yes, absolutely. If you want loads of people to watch in 3D and are price conscious then consider the LG sets but for me right now the Samsung 3D capability is equally as good (I personally can't tell much difference between the two technologies) but for me the Samsung TVs are better elsewhere. Four stars as I do think even for active glasses they're a bit pricey, I should have thought a cost of somewhere in the twenty-something bracket would be ample given you've already spent quite a lot with Samsung to get a 3D set in the first place.
