5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Lovely 9 July 2007
Format:DVD
This is a very beautiful life-affirming film.

It consists of six love stories very cleverly interwoven - the scriptwriters must have been great jigsaw players at an early age.

Each story is very different from all the rest and yet they are all very engaging. The film lasts nearly four hours and yet when it ends, you are already hoping for a sequel.

Priyanka Chopra is very lovely in her role and surprises us with a very carefully crafted performance with some real depth. Govinda's heart-warming story is in liaison with an unknown but surprisingly good American actress called Shannon Esrechowitz - she's a real find.

The most heart-wrenching story concerns John Ambraham (an Indian actor despite the name) and Vidha Balan - you will need to watch it to find the outcome of this intriguing tale.

The direction is first-class in every respect from the wonderful set-pieces to the careful use of lighting, including appropriate use of grey tones in the Anil Kapoor story to the exceptional use of location shots in London and elsewhere.

Do yourself a favour and buy this DVD - if you believe in the redemptive value of peace and love, you won't regret it!

Abolutly terrible film by Nikhil Advani.

I have highlighted this in other reviews too, in the Nikhil Advani, seems to have a real problem with Punjabi/Sikh charachters.

The story itself revolves around several love stories intertwined. A frustrated businessman, a cab driver etc etc. I started to fall asleep.

In between are various charachters. For some reason Nikhil Advani has chosen every buffoon charachter to be a Sikh. Whether it be Makkar (he makes fun of his surname), or the Taxi passanger that gets punched.

I think if such racism and prejusdice were portrayed in a Western film there would be an outcry from various groups.

very good actors in it, but not what I expected. All different stories were OK, but not exceptional, quite disappointing
