It doesn't look like it. There's no SACD mentioned in any description of this set I've seen anywhere. As SACD seems to be (for pop/rock anyway) unfortunately a dying format, I wouldn't hold my breath either. The inclusion of the Blu-ray discs in these sets seems to indicate the way things are going to go.
I would have to disagree with Woody, SACD seems to be making a bit of a comeback - albeit only in Japan at the moment. Check out the SHM-SACD's of Who's Next, Sticky Fingers and the like, they're amazing.
It stated on the PF press release that SACD's were going to be a part of the immersion sets but alas, it doesn't appear that way. Lets hope the Japanese can come up with the goods - they're going to cost though, if they do.
EDIT: It looks as though Analogue Productions in the US are releasing a SACD of WYWH in November. Fingers crossed!
UK Advert in Mojo Magazine states Wish You Were Here 2 Disc Experience Edition (includes Live & unreleased tracks); 5 Disc Immersion Box Set; SACD & Vinyl LP for release on 7th November 2011. So it looks like SACD might be its own separate release (maybe the Discovery version is multi-layer?)
It would have been nice to see EMI and the band work just that bit harder and think this re-release through. The SACD surround version of Wish You Were Here will cost $35 if you are in the States or a minimum of $50 plus shipping and import costs, making this a very expensive purchase. They are alienating a number of fans by making the release this way. Why EMI was not consistent in its policy and released this album in surround in the same way as they did with the SACD release of the 30th anniversary album of Dark Side of the Moon is beyond me. I don't want to buy yet another re-mastered cd I want something that is truly different, special and above all affordable, which is the SACD surround version of not only this but most albums. EMI and other majors fail to step up to the mark and disappoint as they seem to be so out of touch with what many people do want, but as ever, we have no choice and are in their hands. This is equally disappointing given the current economic climate when many will not be able to afford expensive sets but want surround versions. Surround sound SACDs can be released as normal CD prices, so why not Pink Floyd's albums, they have done it once, why can't they do it again?

To hell with SACD (whatever that is), Blu-Ray and all this other format nonsense. What I was hopeing for was an album of all the rare/unreleased tracks. I'm damned if I'm gonna shell out for these sets just for a handful of rarities. Damn you Pink Floyd/EMI.

I would love no better than to own the SACD of WYWH,but I think its going to cost you. Have a look on here for Fleetwood Mac Rumours SACD its just been released so it does look like SACD is making a comeback but at a premium. Amazon are charging £41.99 for the privilage of owning this SACD. Ive never paid no more than £10 for any of my SACD's and my wife paid £16 for one from HMV as a present. £42 thats daylight robbery or have they been watching how much Depeche Modes SACD's having been selling for on fleebay and think £42 is a bargain. Maybe its a Japanese import, hence the import price but still,£42 for a 5" disc is way above my limit. For those who havn't got a SACD player: You dont know what your missing.
The answer to this question is no. But there is good news! Wish You Were Here will be released on SACD in the US. Strangely, I have heard it won't be released on the EMI label though. The only problem. (like Blu-Ray) is region coding. You could go to all the trouble to hunt it down, and it won't play because it is region coded for the USA and not Europe/UK. - So prospective buyers must beware!!

Living over here in the UK, does that mean I have to get a minimum order of $50 plus shipping plus probable import duty. Just wonderered if anyone out there could get 2 copies and post one over to me. I'd pay up front of course and we may even be able to get them direct from accoustic sounds it may even help us save on postage. David
I would advise anyone ordering SACD's from Acoustic Sounds to check the costs involved prior to ordering. The shipping is done via a courier and I felt that it was expensive. There is no chance of avoiding import duties etc. It might to better to see if anyone else, either on amazon.com or amazon.uk is supplying this SACD on release.
I see that a German site; www.jpc.de, are selling it for around 46 Euro's including shipping. It doesn't matter what you do, you'll still paying throught the nose for it.
Here's the link for the WYWH SACD at HMV Japan. If you place an order with two other items the cost is significantly reduced. They also use courier services to send orders but are no where near as expensive as Acoustic Sounds. http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/product/detail.asp?sku=4221864 And the reason the Fleetwood Mac SACD is expensive @ Amazon uk,it too is a Japanese release.
In the recent official video (see You Tube) for the Wish You Were Here release, it mentions the SACD - this makes me think that it will receive a proper UK release along with the Immersion and Vinyl editions of the album.
My Immersion Edition is being prepped for dispatch :-)
Thanks for that. I used dutycalculator.com to work out import costs to UK and it works out to be £33.79 delivered ($34.99 + $9.99 P&P + £5.63 VAT). As far as I can tell, that's the cheapest way of getting one of these SACDs in the UK.
EDIT (15-11-11): I just ordered the WYWH SACD from Elusive disc.com for £29.30 delivered and with a bit of luck, I won't have to pay VAT (£5.63) when it arrives - fingers crossed!
