This Powerful 2400 watt input power shredder will make light work and shreds solid branches up to 40mm in diameter, making it easier to dispose of or to compost.

The Ryobi RSH2400R has large heavy-duty solid wheels for easy transportation over the roughest of terrains and also has the new Ryobi Livetool Indicator. This indicator glows blue when plugged into the power supply so that you are aware of the machine being live and ready to go. This is a good safety feature and an instant alert to the fact that the tool is powered on.

The extra sharp reversible cutting blades will make light work of branches, brambles and shrub cuttings as they will shred to fine mulch. The reinforced frame provides improved strength and stability when used on rugged or uneven ground and will give the shredder a longer usage life.

This model is fitted with a large hopper, a built-in plastic handle to move the shredder from place to place and a large plastic plunger for pushing the debris in to the shredder, keeping all fingers away from the cutting blades. The large hopper will guide larger branches in for shredding and also helps when putting leaves into the shredder

This Ryobi RSH2400R is ideal for all sized gardens and will give you years of effortless gardening.

bought the shredder with some trepidation as at the price I feared it would be pretty light weight. Turned out not to be the case. It dealt with all the stuff I threw at it, branches,parts of shrubs etc. The first useage lasted about an hour; no blockages and fine mulch which I have spread over the garden shrub area. Reasonably quiet in operation and you cant really put in branches that it won't shred as the opening is quite clever in that respect. I am delighted and would recommend to anyone for home garden use. DB

I have just bought one of these, and I have to say I am disappointed. The actual shredding function is good, if noisy, but it is a pain to use because the stuff you are shredding does not go in easily, and anything with "knobs" on has to be cut smaller before being introduced into the shredder opening.

I used to have a Bosch "worm-drive" shredder which was wonderful. You simply had to introduce the end of a piece of wood into the drive and it would steadily (and quietly) gobble it up and spit it out while you got the next piece ready. The strength of the drive meant it would pull quite gnarled pieces into its jaw. Sadly I gave it away when I moved into an apartment, thinking my shredding days were over!

These high-speed blade shredders do not "suck" stuff in, they snatch at it, and you are forever pushing with the plunger device to get things in.

Great little shredder but cheaply cased, top heavy and a little selective about the material it takes. Takes longer to get results with this unit as compared to my old Bosch unit but it did cost half the price that I paid for the Bosch 6 years ago and the Bosch (although it served me well) is not worth double the cost for the number of times I use it during the year...
