Ryobi gardening products have taken a new turn in life with this RVB2800S powerful electric blower vacuum with the added features of a power mulching system and a large 45 litre collection bag. This model has high 320 km/h airspeed with 14 m/min airflow and a mulching ratio at low power consumption. The power mulching blades provide high impact resistance and a high mulching ratio up to 15:1. The RBV2800S is equipped with an easy-to-use quick-change lever to switch between blow and vacuum mode and telescoping tubes with double safety switching for easy storage and transportation. For user comfort and safety, there is a shoulder strap supplied with the unit and, like most of the power tools in the Ryobi range, a live-tool indicator that glows blue when plugged into power supply and is a good visual safety feature. The Ryobi RBV2800S has a grip zone rear handle and an adjustable front handle for user comfort. The blower vacuum can be easily stored.

Bought product for strength of suction and quality of mulching blade. The blade is very good - be careful of other models with plastic and replaceable blades. Also be careful of buying powerful vacs which have a slow suction power - the power usually does not reflect the power of suction.
This machine is both very powerful and good at mulching. In fact the suction is probably a little too strong and I would not recommend for sucking between plants you want to keep. Alternatively, when you have the vac on you can hold it further away (although this does not achieve required results in wet conditions).
Other problems, the extendable pipe was very difficult and stiff to extend - I initially though it was not working until I was finally able to manually extend it and the safety cut off was not activated. Also, the tube is not very long and you have to crouch a little to use it - I am not tall (5' 8") and this may be difficult for taller people.
Generally though, at this price it is of a very good quality in terms of power and build and look forward to using it more when the weather improves.

This product is due for a serious overhaul. It is heavy, cumbersome, noisy. It has a power cut-out on the extendable nozzle that switches off the power whenever you knock it against anything solid, so you are constantly having to re-set it. The leaf-catching bag does not stay connected and falls away when the bag gets heavier. If a larger twig gets stuck in the mechanism it is incredibly difficult to remove it because of the curve of the pipe into the bag. I spend more time fixing the problems with use than collecting the leaves. Really badly designed.

The Vac function is quite good although the leaves need to be dry, which is a problem in the winter. The blower is not as powerful as I believed. The unit is quite heavy and there is a cut off if the blower tube is not fully extended, this is a real pain.

Better than other blower-vacs I've had

Excellent Garden Vac/blower
Really pleased with this. Works well as both Vac and blower. Like most powerful garden vacs it is loud - use ear defenders. Avoid close proximity with guinea pigs.
