What an amazing piece of kit,follow easy starting instructions for an effortless start every time.the fact you dont mix the fuel and just put petrol in where indicated and oil seperately makes life that little bit easier. I am extremely happy with my purchase and highly recommend to others.

Bought this unit to replace a 2 stroke 30cc Ryobi that had become unreliable.
Was not sure from the literature about the weight and noise level, and so was very pleased when I received it to find that it is much quieter than the 2 stroke, and lighter. Also has the benefit of not needing to mix the fuel, as it runs on ordinary unleaded - so far very pleased, although have only had for a month.
The main strimmer head is very good. The drive unit works with all my existing "expand-it" attachments (hedge trimmer, chainsaw etc).
Not so convinced about the second strimmer head supplied - but don't need it anyway.

hi,
bought this item to replace my two stroke device , and also for the hedge trimmer attachment .
only had the trimmer for a day when i noticed while using it to cut a hedge, that it was spluttering
badly , and finally the engine died .
on inspection i found engine oil coming from a small pipe which exited by the carb .
wondering if it was a fault, i went on the ryobi web site to get some info , but no help pages or faqs on the subject . so did a general search on google .
it seams im not the only one having this problem , in fact if you look at the US amazon reviews you will find 60 - 70% of the reviews are bad .
i am in the process of trying to send the item back , i say trying as amozon uk will not except responsibility
do not buy this item !

Ryobi 30cc 4 Stroke Line Trimmer
Great machine and very powerful. Takes a fair bit of pull to start due to four stroke motor - maybe it'll loosen up as it 'runs' in. Sounds much more pleasant than a 2 stroke. Read more
