Product Description

Ryder Cup Diaries DVD includes the 38th Ryder Cup Official Film DVD in this memorable box set.

Disc 1: Ryder Cup 2010 Diary DVD

The unique, first of its kind Golf documentary will take fans behind the scenes in golf s most prestigious team event. The precise level of access is at this stage a closely held secret but the producers, IMG, reveal "never before will golf fans have such an insight into the workings, passion and energy of the Ryder Cup as the drama of the event unfolds

This documentary will show elements of the golf event yet to be seen before on DVD. That means on the course, inside the fairway ropes, the press conferences, the nights and days off and some never seen before footage of the players and event.

All the raw emotion and passion from The 38th Ryder Cup will be captured on camera in a film that will change the way fans think about the sport of golf and the extraordinary athletes that play the great game. Fans will know what it feels like to be part of the European and US teams as they seek to gain golf s greatest prize.

The Ryder Cup is the most watched golf event in the world with millions viewing across the globe and 1.5 million UK house holds tuning in to watch the last Ryder Cup when Europe drew against the USA in Kentucky back in 2008.

Disc 2: Ryder Cup 2010 Official Film (38th) DVD

"It made the last nine of the US Open seem like a gentle game with my Dad!"

So said Graeme McDowell - the last man standing - as Colin Montgomerie's magnificent men snatched back golf's Ryder Cup from Corey Pavin's American elite in one of the most extraordinary playings of the sport's greatest competition.

The tournament came to Wales - and the magnificent Celtic Manor Resort for the first time, but furious rain storms meant another first, a Monday finish, as Europe and the USA were forced into a fourth day decider!

After three days of thrust and counter thrust and in front of 40,000 often soaked but always hugely spirited and vocal fans, Europe's determined dozen had forged a surely significant three point lead. On that third day and with all 24 players on the course the hosts, inspired by the imperious Lee Westwood, took five and half points from a possible six!

And so to 'Singles Monday'. The mist slowly lifted and the sun finally shone, knuckles were white, mouths were dry and Tiger Woods led an American assault as Captain Corey's boys scorched the scoreboard red. For Europe, laser like Luke Donald, irresistible Ian Poulter and magnificent Miguel Angel Jimenez delivered precious points. And then there was McDowell - that last man standing... The US Open Champion , The Wales Open Champion .... no finer man to make Monty's Ryder Cup dream come true.

5.0 out of 5 stars STUNNING !!! 25 Nov 2010
By BA
Have to agree with the below review.
The Ryder Cup in Celtic Manor was so exciting. This double DVD pack features the full tournament on one disc (gave me goose bumps re-watching the drama unfold) & then the behind the scenes diary on the second. I always buy the tournament DVD's for the Ryder Cups. This is the best produced one yet. However what stands this set out, by a mile!!! from any other Ryder Cup / golf DVD release is the second disc, the diaries. For the first time ever we get to see behind the scenes access with the players.
Talking through their thoughts & feelings during the tournament. From the slow start; to the excitement after Sunday, into the nailbiting drama on Monday (first time the Ryder Cup has ever gone into a Monday because of the weather). The images & players thoughts, talking through the incredible events on the Monday leading to the dramtic 17th hole & Graeme MacDowell bringing it home for Europe, bring tears to the eyes. You feel like you're part of the European team willing them home for each other for Seve & for Europe. A stunning program!!. Must own for any Golf / Sports fan. 5 Stars !!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 17 Nov 2010
Amazing - the best sports documentary I've ever watched. I really love the skilled way it was edited without using any music, and there's absolutely no voice over across the whole film - genius. Really brilliant behind-the-scenes access - great direction.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just watch the golf 18 Aug 2011
By ThomasR
When I bought this I was bursting with anticipation about watching the diary, seeing what really goes behind the scenes and how the the captain and the assistants picked the teams and what they said to the players before they went on to the first tee. What a total disappointment, no real team talks, no insight into tactics and most disappointing no sign of or mention of the famous Olazabal speech. Instead it was a few soundbites from players and stills from the pre contest festivities. This diary was a missed opportunity. Fortunately I had the golf to fall back on which was great but only served as a reminder that the Ryder Cup should never be moved to October ever again.
