Book Description

18 Feb 2005 People's Bible Commentary
Each PBC volume divides the Bible text into sections that are covered in a series of two page reflections, with concluding prayer or point for reflection. An introductory section covers issues of authorship and background, including a list of books for further study. Each of these five books has profound pastoral implications. They take us into a world of intense joy and massive grief. Using story, poetry, proverb, dirge and lament, they run the whole gamut of human emotion. Each has its own distinctive style and emphasis and, as part of the canon of Scripture, each of these five books ultimately bear witness in some way to the gospel message.
