Lots of reviewers rated this product as mediocre. Upon reading all of the reviews, it seemed that the ones who didn't like the product didn't follow directions. I followed directions to the letter, and got amazing results. The biggest thing you need to worry about is keeping the nozzle 30cm from the surface. Any closer, and the paint leaves splotches that takes a few layers to make disappear. Great product. I'm buying more for the rest of my windows.

How to get the best from this great product - wear a face mask as the fumes are very strong and shake the can properly.
Hold a large piece of paper beside the glass window and start spraying onto the paper then move onto the glass when you are already spraying - this will avoid large clumps of spray appearing on the window.

Whatever you do don't attempt to wipe it once sprayed or patch up where it's not covered evenly - let it dry.
Focus on building up layers, spray a fine layer quickly moving your hand continually, wait to dry for 10 minutes and then add another thin layer as you will get a better result.
I have used 10 fine layers and got perfect coverage.

If you have problems using this then you are not doing it right, applying too much or trying to wipe it off before it's set.

Worth every penny

I have read all the negative reviews of the product before buying and still wanted to give it a try because of the price. I tried it on a small portion of my glass door and left it overnight. Next morning the result was that the small portion is now frosted without any problem. I went ahead with spraying the whole door and left it for about 30 mins. Very impressive result.

I could see why the product got so many negative reviews. It creates a lot of streaks when spraying. All these will disappear once it is dried for 30 mins. It has a strong paint smell which goes away after half hour to an hour. I believe other reviewers didn't wait for the spray to dry before they started scraping it out.

Good product but difficult to use and look smart. Two comments - spray it on in thin layers with 15-30 minutes between them and youll end up with a nice finish that is really tough. Focus on moving the can quickly and not making it too thick anywhere - as it dries out the frosting does even out to make it look better.
Secondly if the window is likely to be used a lot then beware that this stuff can chip if you knock it. May not be problem for most, but definitely scratches more easily than the sticker ones (though does also look better IMO)

Decided to purchase this inspite of some mixed reviews, and I'm glad i did ! If you follow the instructions for use on the back of the can then you will get the desired results. Clean the window thoroughly and spray evenly, I did about 3-4 coats as per timing intructions and the result is that my garage window is perfectly obscured! Will buy this again for other projects.

Initially I thought it was junk as I kept spraying a layer every minute or so and no frosting was appearing, it was like water. I got in a right mood and threw the can into the garage and walked off in a huff! Then once I'd actually let it dry it was very frosty.

The key is do thin layers (doesn't matter if there are some thick/shiny spots - it drys very equally). Leave it to dry for several minutes then do another layer. I do four layers for security glass. It is brilliant.

Patience my dear friends, patience!

I frosted a balcony door in the bedroom for privacy with this. I didn't want to use curtains due to a recurring mould problem, so this worked really well. Just spray it on in steady strips as described on the tin, allow to dry, repeat, done. I used the whole tin as I frosted both sides of the glass, just enough to do a door that way.

having followed the instructions on the can (i.e. shake very well) I used the product as instructed but it just does not work. it's as if they have forgot to put the product in the aerosol and im just coating the glass with paint thinners. Very disappointed..

I held the canister a little close on the first window and so it dripped a little, but the second window I made sure it was far enough away.
However rather than frosting it looks a little like my windows have steamed up. But it suits it's purpose in our bathroom until new proper frosted double glazed units can be purchased.

Couldn't get a good coating at all, tried so many different ways was trying to frost some jam jars to use as tealight holders, followed instructions exactly, it either ran down or the bits that stuck rubbed off, jars had been washed with soap and water, then isopropanol to ensure they were totally clean.
