The new Russell Hobbs Steamglide Professional Iron is styled in a rich purple colourway and boasts 2400 W of power. Its ceramic soleplate will effortlessly glide over fabrics, cutting down on ironing time and it also has a large 350 ml large transparent water tank, meaning less time is spent refilling. Featuring variable temperature and steam settings, plus a powerful 40 g/min steam output and 95 g shot of steam for easier ironing, the Russell Hobbs steamglide professional iron gives you high performance at your fingertips.
Another great time saving feature is the irons powerful vertical steaming facility, ideal for removing wrinkles from furnishing fabrics, curtains and from hanging clothes quickly and easily, without having to take them down. The fine mist water spray is perfect for dampening dry areas and the iron can even be used as a dry iron if required.
Incredibly the features don't end there, as the iron includes a self-clean function with anti-scale agent to prevent the build-up of scale, an anti-drip mechanism to prevent water leaking onto garments and also a 360-degree swivel cord guard for added convenience.

I found this iron quick to heat up and changes temperature well heating up when I needed it to as I worked through my items from those needing a cooler setting to those needing the full heat this iron can put out. It ironed really nicely and I whipped through my pile this week much quicker than I did with the iron this is replacing and I also think the results seem better to me as well.
As others have said, the dark colour of the water tank does make it a little difficult to see but I just moved it a little into the light and used the filling jug that came with it and found that simple to do. It is quite a heavy iron but I like that, It means I dont have to press so hard on more difficult fabrics. The vertical steaming worked well for me and the long cord is a good bonus.
I wouldn't say this was worth the top money it's advertised at but while it's on offer, it's a fantastic iron for the money and a good bargain to get hold of!

Going to try and return this iron after Christmas. I cannot see the water level. The plate is not very smooth and tends to catch on the clothes and cause more creases and it has now started splattering water all over the clothes which is also not good. It also does not switch off automatically if not being used as my previous cheaper iron did. Would never buy this iron again!

This iron was a good price (reduced by half from original price) and as a result good value. Good long mains lead, lots of steam. A little difficult to see the water level because of the dark purple casing and much heavier than our previous iron but it performs well.

Not as good as you think

Good solid iron
Comfortable iron to use. not too heavy. Takes a while to heat up. Looks ok. The price was the main decider for me though. THis was cheap for a solid iron.
