We have tended to buy more expensive combination microwave ovens in the past, so we were a little wary that this one might be too good to be true, but so far we have had no reason to doubt the wisdom of our purchase. It allows all the combinations we might want and is simpler to operate than some ovens we have owned, especially for the less-used functions like initial set-up. I would have liked to see more microwave power settings as 100% can be a bit fierce and 80% not quite fierce enough, but that is splitting hairs. We have yet to see how durable this product will be, but at the price we paid we will be nothing like as upset if it doesn't last indefinitely as we have been with previous purchases.

Very nice all round multi function 'family sized' microwave. Controls are easy to use-(manual has easy directions). I have yet to try all the various combi options but so far very nice cooking results. Full size dinner plate fits onto the turntable.
Very stylish microwave. The only remark i would make is that microwave door has a mirror like reflective finish, even allowing for the internal light on during cooking, makes it a little tricky to see through if you want to check on the food without disturbing the cooking process.

Russell Hobbs 30L Digital Microwave with Grill & Convection Black RHM3003B. It seemed like a nice combination oven, looked nice seemed to have all the functions, but be warned.

1. The combination function is a joke. As an example if you set to Microwave and Convection cook, you cannot set the power of the Microwave or temperature of the convection. This effectively means you are cooking blind, especially as the user guide does not give any information at all about the temperatures being used or the power of the microwave being applied. Russel Hobbs engineer reply was it was mid range, whatever that means. A true combination oven should allow a range of microwave powers and convection temperatures for different foods.

2. The convection function on my oven looks like it's working fine, the indicators show all the right temperatures are being achieved, but it wasn't cooking food properly. I tested the oven with an accurate thermocouple probe in the centre of the oven space. The results at 200C were an average of 160C and at 230C (its maximum temperature), the oven reached a maximum of 192 and a minimum of 172 with an average temperature during cooking of 182.

This means the oven is so far under temperature that it does not cook food properly and certain foods would be impossible to cook correctly even at maximum temperature. If you cooked a product that should be at 180C and set the oven accordingly for a the required time, you would actually be cooking at around 140C, this is a LOT lower than you would expect. it also means that the unknown "combination" preset would be cooking at a very low temperature as would all the other combination quick functions.

My only complaint is that the instruction book did not include cooking times/methods for basic foods so am still going through a process of trial and error.
