    This is a nasty cheap blender.
    This is the second Russell Hobbs blender I have bought and I can assure you it will be the last thing I buy manufactured by them.
    The first was a Marco Pierre which literally switched itself on and then started to smoke, and this one is simple cheaply made and the plastic catch on the lid fell off within a month of purchase.
    To return it was not financially viable and so it will be going out with the waste.
    AVOID
    Go to M&S who are selling a much more robust budget model for £15
