Product Description

Product Description

The new Russell Hobbs 19221 Steamglide Professional Iron comes in a eye catching purple colourway and boasts 2400w of power. Its Ceramic soleplate will effortlessly glide over fabrics, cutting down on ironing time; it also has a large 350 ml large transparent water tank, meaning less time is spent refilling. Featuring variable temperature and steam settings, plus a powerful 40 g/min continuous steam output and 95g shot of steam for easier ironing. The Russell Hobbs Steamglide Professional Iron gives you high performance at your fingertips. :

Another great time saving feature is the Iron's powerful vertical steam facility, ideal for removing wrinkles from furnishing fabrics and curtains quickly and easily without having to take them down. The fine mist water spray is perfect for dampening dry areas and the Iron can be used as a dry Iron if preferred. The soft grip handle also gives ultimate comfort. :

Incredibly the features don't end there, as the Iron includes a self-clean function with an anti-drip mechanism to prevent water leaking onto garments and also a 360-degree swivel cord guard for added convenience.

Bought this iron for £24 as was £50 on Russell Hobbs website.

Firstly this is a great iron. On its highest steam setting it absolutely blasts through any creases on my work shirts and makes light of the matter which used to take me a lot longer with my old iron.

No drips of water came from it as well which i was delighted with as my older iron leaked constantly.

All in all, a great purchase especially for that price.

    Would definitely recommend.

I have some experiences where I found the reviews either exagerated or the complaints not applying to the item I got. In this case, I should have let the reviews guide me away from this product. The Amazon price is a great lure, but not worth it.

The complaints about the water tank cover stayed in my mind even after purchasing the item so once I received it the first thing I did was to check if they were right, And they were! It does not matter how you try to make the cover stay closed, it doesn't. I haven't bothered to fill the water tank because if the cover can't stay in place while empty, you can imagine what will happen when the water gets hot.

So 5 minutes after receiving this iron I was filling in the return form. All in all, time wasted, plus the pile of clothes I had when my previous iron decided to break down is still where I left it, untouched.

The first iron that arrived had a fault in that the little cap that closes the 'filler hole' for the water resevoir didn't fit very snugly so that water shot out as you were ironing, wetting the garment being ironed. A replacement was instantly sent and the second is much better. The iron itself is light but presses well without you having to use any extra pressure. I haven't quite mastered the steam control yet - I seem to need it on quite a high setting to get constant bursts but it seems fine. I have only used the iron a couple of times in fairness but for quite a long sessoin. The handle is comfortable, unlike my old Phillips Azure which gave you a blister when you used it too much!

Whatever I do it leaves trails of water, very frustrating. Is it me or the iron?
    I need a solution.

This iron is good value for money and really like it but just a couple of bad points that means I've given it 4 stars instead of 5 - if you try to wrap the cord around the the iron for storage it just slips off again, also you can't see very well where the water level is up to and hence I overfilled it.

I bought this iron a few weeks ago and find that it is excellent. The only problem is that it is almost impossible to see the water level because of the purple tank.

I have small hands but find that this iron's design is fine and is fairly light.

Have bought 4 of this model recently, one for me, then 2 for my sewing group to use and finally this one for one of my sons, as a house warming present!! Does the job perfectly, good steam function and extra long lead a real asset.
